Eras suck to skate in. skate for an hour and your toe is already bleeding.

yeah the era pros have much more padding, especially toward the back heel area.  I heard some people have to get em a size bigger, thats how much padding is involved.

The insole in the regular eras are rocks, and the ones in era pros are super padded and comfortable.

They made green old skool pros and more recently did black.

Era pros are considerably more padded but shaped differently. The toe cap seems shorter and higher and they slip at the heel a little bit, compared to normal ones at least. Also  run a little bit longer but not really enough to go half size down, in my experience

I wish they made Old Skool Pro's.

They do.

Era Pro's seem to have a bit of a thicker sole, or atleast the rubber feels that way and doesn't flat out as quick as normal vans.
They have a better insole
usually made of suede or super tuff suede
have an extra piece of rubber under the toe bumper called "duracap"
a little more padded around the ankle.

I think they just raised the price but they used to be like $50, look around sale sites, they tend to have em for like $30.

I prefer regular Eras. The boardfeel on the pros didn't  feel as good, and they always slipped at my heel which was annoying.

they slip at the heel a little bit

This happens with mine as well, I was wondering if it was a common thing.  Other than that they are the best shoes I've skated in a long time.

The pros have a better insole and a tougher upper/padding. The actual sole of them I think is shitter. They use that thinner/harder (looks darker) sole. Maybe it lasts longer.  I wish they'd just use the standard gummier sole that they run in the classics in their "core skate" line.

Even though I never tried the Pro's I don't think there's THAT much difference with the regular ones I have, as long as they're suede of course!
All I did was putting some old adidas campus vulc insole over the vans one and get used to that new shape..if you put a real insole over the one there's glued to the shoe then you'll fine..
I gotta say I never done big gaps but for skateparks and small/medium stuff it's all good
Oh and put a little shoe goo on the stiching, it helps..
Did that because I'm a student and I'm broke most of the time haha plus shoes here cost a lot, but I was stoked with how it turned out

OP it's simple-
Era Pros DO have more padding, will last longer, look the same,
OG Eras are perfect, board feel is great, but blow out fast.

If it's 20 dollars and you have it, try the pros.

Then sit on a bottle.

I've had both, and I personally prefer the OG Eras. They had super sick board feel, but like all vans suck to break in. The Pros are just more padded (as everyone said) and to me felt weirder, but I also hate even remotely thick shoes...

I wouldn't bother getting regular Era's ever again.  Era Pro's are more comfortable and offer all suede.  I'm not a fan of canvas on my shoes.

Whenever I have a pair of era's or authentics, I take whatever old insoles I have lying around that are pretty thick, put them on top of the shitty non removable ones that they come with, and it's the best feeling shoe ever.
