I've said it before and I'll say it again:  I would like once, just once, to see Skin Phillips of TWS, Grant Britain of The Skateboard Mag, etc. etc. to even cruise on a board or even remotely live the life of a skate rat for one damn day.  These dudes are fat cats, corporate minded out the ying-yang, concerned with nothing but publicity image and of course $... and sadly, the ones who control a good majority of the skate media industry.  Ass backwards business as usual.

I don't give a damn if Thrasher starts running downhill articles in every issue, they'll still be 10X more true than any other competing media outlet.   At least Phelps still rides, get his hands dirty and maintains the true mentality of a skater.... I can't say that for any editorial exec. of any other mag or media outlet.   

Bottom line- Thrasher is NOT fuckin' up.

what if they run ads for my little pony? Are they still true cause the dudes behind the scenes of the mag still skate?

I don't really have a problem with whatever the fuck went on in that video. I just think it's boring as shit to watch

Fair enough.  I'll still give Thrasher, and Phelps, way more street cred than corporate TWS or The Skateboard Mag.  I can't stand those fuckin' weasels.  They are so far from what skateboarding really is, it makes me sick.  UFC & household cleaning product ads?!?!?  At least Thrasher hosts rugged ass trips and actually participates in them, TWS is just about producing mediocre videos, giving the filmers unfair compensation, then posting everything on iTunes to make bank for Bonnier Corp. and pay salaries.  TWS can get fucked!

If we're looking at the big players in the skate media industry:  Who ran UFC background on their website for weeks at a time?  Who is fully owned by an external corporation that also owns other print publications on outdoor fishing and other nonsense?  Who's E.I.C. has never stepped foot on a skateboard in any print or broadcast media?  Who currently runs ads on household cleaning products before their videos?  Who puts their full-length videos exclusively on iTunes and never, even long after release, puts them online?

FUCK TWS.
