he's the berrics filmer.. you think they let him ever leave?
the tattoo symbolizes his infinite slavery..
the only sunlight and air he gets is when he gets to go to the berrics outdoor park.. even then if he tries to make a run for it, a chip implanted in him would cause him to explode and he'd die.

berra's branding people in case rustlers come looking for filmers in the night. he lets them know chase belongs the branch berricians (you have to pronounce it berr-ish-ians for this to work, so just do me this one little favor this time.)

Its not that bad . Not worse then when somebody gets a company tattoo . Berrics has given him a job for afew years as a filmer and a home too . Sure he has great memories he will look back on later , skating / filming with pros and tons of other fun stuff .
I still think berrics mostly suck and berra is a kook in a cult .

People used to be fans of bands, iconic figures and other things. When i was a kid my bag was full of tags of punk bands or their lyrics. Now kids tag company names. Capitalism's greatest achievement. You are defined by brands. This shit is beyond lame.

I definitely see what you're saying and I agree to a certain extent, however I don't see a large distinction between getting a band name tatted vs/ a skate company. They both represent people ( the band members/the skate team) and on a larger scale possibly a record label or distribution company. Both tattoos signify that you identify with the product that the band or company is putting out (music/product) and support them at least on a business level.
Music is a business too, y'ah mean?

Yeah some skateboarding brands are different than brands in general because they represent a way of life and a perspective about how you interact with society as a skateboarder. For example toy machine and roger are two companies that i like. However most of the companies are not like that. Mostly clothing and shoe companies are not like that and people are psyched on these, even non skaters, something that i find super lame. Lets better not talk about the energy drinks craze.
As for music i dont know a single name of a recording or distribution company and i think almost nobody does. Music and lyrics is all that matters and how you can relate with them, so i see no resemblence unless you are a fashion fag and change genres every time something else becomes mainstream (majority of people).
Yeah consumerism in skateboarding is one of the highest than in other activities something that bothered me but you cant do otherwise. However there is a vast difference between a skater who skates no matter what and a gear freak.

First of al thank you for a well-thopught out response. But I think you missed my point, the only reason you know about dwindle, DLX, NHS fun factory etc. is because you are in tune with skateboarding. Trust me, there are plenty of people who have a vast understanding of the music industry and know things like this. In fact, I guarantee you that there are boards similar to SLAP that simply revolve around music, where similar discussions have/are happening. My main point I was trying to get accross is simply that if you wear a band t-shirt, or a spitfire shirt, the powers that be in both enterprises have succeeded.
