I actually me him one on the airplane we ended up talking about skating for likae an hour but whenever I brought up BA and how cool he is malto started to quiver, like he was afraid or something this I swear to god is actually a true story sean malto might be a homophobe or had a bad experince in his childhood where he was raped by an elderly man.

if any of you peeked at any other magazines out there, you'd see this is a standard ad in the world of advertising. i think it looks cool... much better than VOX or Birdhouse ads or something

Things work in cycles.

This type of ad was one of the many reasons there was a major uprising in the late 80's.

Kids didn't want to see you holding your Jimmy'z hat over your ear, they wanted to see you skate.

I don't think every ad needs to have skating in it. I don't know that Enjoi's ever had an ad with a skate shot and they have some of my favorites ever.

The Olson ad and this Malto ad don't suck because of their lack of skating, they suck because it's dudes laying and rolling around like they're at a slumber party and it's lame. But, here we are talking about them and giving the brand more time and thought, so maybe that was the whole concept to begin with. "hey, we can bang these out super easy, not have our guys give up any tricks they might be saving for a video, and the internet nerds will cycle our ad around for free just to bitch about it and more people will see it."

no one was saying 'fuck malto for doing this stupid ad', they were just expressing rightful criticism for a crappy advert by a company with one of the biggest, if not the biggest, influences in skateboarding right now. this is a pretty lame image to be expressing on a mass scale, and is once more abstracting nike sb further away from skateboarding. not a huge deal by any means, but its lame.

Not every ad has to have skateboarding in it, as long as it has Muska with a lifestyle hammer or enjoi being funny.  But this is probably the stupidest shit I've ever seen.
