Anyone know where to buy the original Nike Salazars online? Everywhere I've searched doesnt have any in my size (10-10.5) or just has the new lunarlon vulc version which is tempting but id rather go with the original cupsole model.

also would anybody's whos skated either shoe like chime in? I'm more than likely to cop a pair if can find the right deal & colorway

I skated the Original Salazar and they were horrible. The toe cap was stiff as fuck, the stitching in the ripped after like an hour of skating and they had absolutely no board feel.

When A shoe is discontinued there is usually A good reason for it.

I actually didn't think it was a bad shoe to skate but when I went on a trip to NYC and brought those out just for walking, those things destroyed me. I literally had to buy some Dr. Scholl's for the insoles and they still messed me up. I never had a shoe do that to me before and just cause so much pain just from walking around.

I loved those shoes. It was great that everybody hated them because my size was always in the sale pile.

I loved his original shoe. Bought the navy/gums and have the light blue/light greys on my feet right now. Fantastic shoe. I tend to look on ebay for 'em. Skatepark of Tampa had them for a long time. Sad that they discontinued that shoe.

I didn't have the originals but I just had the new ones and they were really good. The lunarlon insole are the best insoles ive ever had. So comfy, and I ended up using them in my next couple pairs of shoes. I always liked the first omar shoe with the dinosaur jr. color way.

i was kinda surprised to see Nike putting out all these new LR models for shoes like dunks & blazers as well as the other pro shoes so assuming that they've really been getting alot of good feedback with the lunarlon. im excited to try it out for myself

I've heard (this may or may not be true) that he and Stefan threatened to go to Gravis if they didn't give them a shoe. But I also think that BA does shoe design for them now or something as a trade off for not having a shoe.

Yeah I heard Janoski and Omar got an offer from gravis so Nike gave them both pro models so they'd stay.

I skated two pairs of OG Salazars and had positive experience but I usually skate cupsoles. They are thick wide cupsole that need long time to brake in, but surprisingly they feel relatively light. If you skated vulcs before trying Salazars, they will feel moonbootish at first. I had antracite colorway and they were very, very durable, really good suede on them. Upper on team red colorway was little less durable.
Great heel cushioning, that's why I liked them. Did wonders for my old knees also.
I bought one more pair just for a case when I need thicker shoe (like for recovering from heel bruise or chronic sore knees).

ive skated the Salazar LR's for a few sessions now and im definitely diggin em. they're like Nike's verison of a Half-Cab. the lunarlon insole is stiff as fuck when you first try it  outbut it seems to be breaking in. they're comfortable. i got a makeshift jordan insole (ripped the top layer off) under the lunarlon and they've got decent cushioning for bigger gaps and things like that. definitely not as good as a cupsole but sufficient.
