Been playing this for a lil bit the past week or so and its definitely pretty good. I play alot of RPG's and the combat in Reckoning is EASILY the most enjoyable. Skyrim was good with archery & magic but traditional swordfighting was very bland. in this game the actual combat is much more in depth and is more than just stats you have to actual FIGHT with your character. it feels alot like fable, but still has its own style. Im totally backing it. it isnt perfect but its definitely very fun with tons of content. i think if they make a second one itll be one of those "classic" RPG games. Definitely worth trying out if your interested!

I played the demo and didn't really enjoy it. I don't like the childish/WoW style of it and the character interaction seemed weird. Todd Mcfarlane (Creator of Spawn comics) did work on the artistic side of the game and I really expected it to be much darker themed but oh well.

I rented it last night and have played like 4 hours in.  It crashed on me once and I find myself skipping tons of boring stupid dialogue but overall it's fun.  I'm only level 3, what should I put my xp into?

doesnt really matter cuz you can goto a fateweaver and redistribute all your points, so experimentation with different styles is key. its one of those games thats much more fun the farther you get into to it. the demo doesnt do the combat justice cuz you're at such a low level and dont really have all the flashy moves & spells.

i started off as an agile character who used daggers, stealth, and some magic w/ chakrams. then i redid my points and turned my guy in some swole ass greatsword weilding brute who used some magic with the chakrams as a faster secondary weapon, which was pretty damn effective. more recently i switched it up to the longsword w/ chakrams and i totally kick ass. while i do agree that the story and characters need more originality & "soul" to them the gameplay itself only gets increasingly fun the farther you get into the game. you actually unlock new combos & spells as you level up and the enemies you fight get much more diverse and interesting. once you get to around lvl 10 youll know exactly what im talking about. the combats so fun you actually look forward into running into large groups of enemies or fighting big ass trolls n shit. i only rented it twice but when i took it back my guy was lvl 16 and i was around 30 hours into the game. ill probably rent it again sometime in the near future and finish it.
