The first thing that came to mind was in Guy Marianos epicly laterd when he goes back to get the photo before it runs. but the first photo that comes to mind is Dills sw fs krook on hubba hideout, he swears he landed it but it was super gross so the footage never came out, but I always wanted to see it none the less.

I could have sworn Dill's switch front crook was in a montage or something. I know I've seen it.

Unless I'm thinking of Gershon at about 1:05.

Hubba Hideout 2/2 - ON Video Skateboarding Spring 2001

no, it was definitely in some montage. it wasn't gross he just didn't tweak it as much as the photo at all.

Yeah I'm positive it was in some sort of unofficial web release montage, and it wasn't gross at all as I remember.

this exceprt from a kalis interview kinda sums up the whole attitude to have towards that type of thing. sure, run the first good attempt cause that's what the photog had, but then run it back for the respect sesh and then if you gotta, bust that bitch triple for the cash sponsor. gangster work ethic as always.

If you look at that Alien ad with the switch back tail, the photo is all grainy because it was getting dark out. And honestly, I didn?t make it that day. I kept jumping off. Plus, I ended up blowing my heel to pieces that day and it had to heal for a bit. But I was so siked to go do it.

A few weeks later, I?m back on it and happen to come up on this big session at Hubba. All these people were there with shit going down, all on a respect thing, I knew I had to try it. I love skating in those types of situations where if you make a trick, you get this big reaction. It makes you feel good. So that?s the one I ended up doing in Timecode. I was so hyped and I thought I was done with it but ended up shooting a sequence of it for Droors a few weeks later.

Interesting you mentioned Guy DGKalis, Check this link for a discussion on a suspect sequnce that Guy had as a TWS cover. There was supposedly something dodgy about it, a person appearing in one frame then gone the next or similar. Apparently there wasn't a filmer there hence the footage doesn't exist. Thoughts or insights anyone?

The interview is here:

Been hearing lately from people "in the know" that Guy's entire part in Pretty Sweet was C.G.I.

Regarding the Snyder sequence. Cant remember for sure where I heard it but I think it was a switch varialflip nosegrind. A trick he then ended up using in Tactical Manual(?).

Someone have the Ad?  You guys seem to be able to find these specific things pretty quick.  Love Kalis. This doesn't bother me as much as some of the others.  Kalis seems like the kind of dude to go back and get it.  Kind of a double standard by me, but certain guys get a pass.

I think if the trick has been made then it doesnt matter... i also think if its in a magazine then the trick must of been landed on that ocassion or another ocassion but if its for facebook or something like that it doesnt really matter unless the skater is claiming a land.

while he clearly bailed there i was surprised at the supposed butthurt over that, especially in the context of that budget ass video. didnt seem like that big of a deal but then i found this clip where the fail is indisputably documented beginning at 2:54

Oh man.  That was bad.  The interview was from 2011.  It's only a skateboarding trick, and in the grand scheme of things none of this shit matters, but that pissed me off.  He let the myth of the Roskopp McTwist live on.  Wonder how he felt sitting there taking accolades from the interviewer, knowing the whole time that his masterstroke was fake.  Should have come clean.  It seems stupid now, but at that time the McTwist was the benchmark of how good you were.  He's fudging a legacy.   Huh
