There might yet be hope - the Street League judges and pros are allowed a third of the vote as well. There's no doubt that the judges are backing Bastien, but who knows which way the pros will go (pick Elmo because he's weak and has awful lines (and his fancy schmancy flippity-do-das probably aren't first try status yet), or pick Bastien because he's the sickest and threw out an NBD in his qualifying video).

Really fucking hope they bring him along.  I still remember watching the old 411 contest videos like "Europe 2000" with little Bastien killing it.

He would put on a much better "show" than Nyberg!

Even though this contest was slightly biased in Bastien's favour, I find it hard to believe Albert would have made a dent with his weird underflip stuff. Real skaters understand the technicality of it all, but the average Joe watching it live probably wouldn't.

That said, Bastien for the win please. I want to see topless two hands to the sky mock arrow shooting taking a break to chill with the crown excellence if possible.

I think the corpo-skater dudes behind street league knew who could give them the best show. more drama, tension that can give them more ratings, sponsors and money (and in the end that really all that matters right?). As a business man, is clearly the best choice. He could be cast as the villian (bad attitude foreigner that destroys everything) or as the EU hero (left american skateboarding after dominating cause europe is better, has all european sponsors, killed every europe contest, and has some xgames and dew tour medals). put that on paper next to Albert whose done what besides youtube parts?

plus a no-comply back 3 vs a bs 3 double flip... who wants to have to judge that? then explain to bi partisan skate fans why which trick is winning. and a million more fans who dont know shit. they gotta keep that shit simple. I remember chris cole did a sal flip type thing that was sick, but scored low...
