I try to eat chicken fillets, salmon, tukey/chicken sausage, or shrimp most nights.  I eat nothing but sugar for breakfast but it's a hard habit to break.  Lunch is always pretty much either turkey sandwiches and carrot sticks or something really unhealthy.  I'm trying to fuck with black beans, more vegetable sides, and better salads too.

Of course, there are definitely foods more healthy than others, but I fear that people give too much emphasis on that part of the diet instead of the much more important portion size and exercise.

I forgot about water, Its all I drank for 2 months, I try and drink 4 litres a day.

When I'm eating healthy sometimes I find myself looking up delicious unhealthy food pictures, stupid high at 3 am. One of the downfalls.

people saying dont eat after 5pm or 7pm, why is that? quite a lot of the time I dont eat anything until about 4pm... should sort that out.
 
And going veggie is good, but only if you're not a lazy vegetarian like me, who mostly eats pasta, bread and cheese. I just drank a smoothie out of guilt for my poor eating today, but that's still loaded with sugar... oh well, it tastes good. At least I can feel sanctimonious about not smoking

Temptation is always the strongest when you can't eat the bad shit...totally feel you on that.

You really wanna go nuts with a health kick, take those awesome shits HATE! is talking about - do this:

It's more or less a raw food diet for the first four days - but you feel better mentally and physically, especially at day four.

I've done this three times and highly recommend it - it's tough the first time you do it, but it gets easier the more you do it.

I recently just started eating blueberries, strawberries and kiwi's soaked in lemon and lime juice for lunch - inspired by this diet - and I feel so much better and lighter.

Also - all fat people NEVER eat breakfast. The key to being fit is getting up and eating something healthy - this will boost your metabolism early on in the day, and get you hungry by about noon. I used to be like Cringe - not eating until 1pm or 2pm each day - totally slows down your system for about half the day, very counter-productive to burning calories and utilizing nutrients.

I eat like an idiot (username). I've been falling into some healthier habits lately just due to having more of a routine, but I still don't pay much attention to calories, nutritional value or what time I'm eating it. Behold, Donkey Lips' eating routine;

Breakfast (7am) - Eat a banana. I don't really like bananas, but Donkey Kong eats them, so I will as well. Sometimes I eat a Clif bar though, which is delicious.

Lunch (2pm) - I eat a 6" sub from Subway pretty much 5 days a week. They're free. Usually that veggie one or just a ham sub. Sometimes I'll get a bag of baked Lays or something.

Dinner (7pm) - whatever isn't moving or is easy. Ranging from BBQ sandwiches from down the street or chicken salads.

I usually drink 100oz of water a day. So how's that folks? Am I going to die pretty young, or is that an acceptable routine? I should note that during weekends, this routine falls to pieces and I eat randomly throughout the day mixed with heavy drinking.

real talk:  

raw oats, almonds, frozen blueberries (put them in hot water for a minute or so to soften them up) and add low fat milk (soy if you're not down with dairy for whatever reason).  i just eat it straight up no cooking.  delicious. and cheap.

eat that for breakfast, lunch, dinner, whatever.  so good and keeps you going without making you feel crumby.  i eat that at 6am and i am good to go until 1230 or so when lunch time comes around.    

I have pretty much the same breakfast:  raw oats, chia, and ground up linseed, sunflower seeds and almonds with soy milk.  plus mango or banana or whatever I can get.  Stays with me until lunch easily.

So you make your own cereal or something?  That sounds better if it would be in yoghourt.  It doesn't sound bad, probably would have to get used to it.  I really need to change my breakfast routine.  Right now it's usually coffee, some kind of really sugary pastry, and a banana.

just buy a ton of bottled water & drink that instead. i used to be a soda fiend myself but over time ive just made it habit to drink water whenever i want something to drink. its like my default drink, even at restaruants. nowadays when i drink soda its like its only for "entertainment" or some shit. if im actually thirsty im always going for water, if not gatoraid or juice for when im tryna spice things up a bit. just continuously make a conscious effort to go for water in most situations and over time the habit will form by itself

man last summer i went vegan/pescetarian for the fuck of it, turned out to be far more cost effective and i had never felt better in my life.

i averaged $50 of weekly groceries, coming to about $7/day.

what i bought:

whole grain oatmeal
whatever berries were on special that week
whatever fruit was cheapest that week
potatoes/sweet potatoes
canned sardines
canned tuna
lentils
chick peas
beans
lettuce, tomatoes, red onions
whatever veggies were on special, like avocado
pasta & tomato sauce
bread, occasionally
nuts when on special

that was the core of my 'diet'. also i was living in brooklyn and food was damn cheap, even the organic stuff - i couldnt believe it. actually i still cant. it's more expensive for the regular crap where im living now than it was to buy organic in ny. fuck.

anyway, eating healthy isn't hard. it's a choice, and a question of getting used to it. i was fortunate to been brought up eating well but i've also forced myself to eat anything thats come my way, particularly at my school's vegan soup kitchen. it helps to suck it up for the taste, kus long term you start to actually like it.

anyway, the best place to start is with chickpea and lentil burgers. dey are da shit. google yoself a recipe tonight homeboi.

spicy peppers are actually one thing that rules that isn't bad for you.  they're actually good for you.  increase metabolism.  anti oxidants.  the only thing could arguably be "bad" about that sauce is the sodium but it's probably not that much.   i like Tapatio but to me it's not spicy enough
