Like a messenger bag or just a nice case, I need to get one and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations, preferably not super expensive.

I bought this one five years ago in a sale at the Crailshop: cheap, durable and comfy.

I've been meaning to buy a new laptop bag too. My current one came free when I ordered my computer and it looks like something a raver would keep its all of its bullshit in.

^ Mine is 15inches and I believe that there is enough extra space.
Edit: I just measured it and the padded pocket - wich is removable and have a velcro band -, is 19x12,5 inches approximatively - blame it on the metric system.

Do yourself a favor and get a Herschel bag. Pricey but utterly worth it. (Keep in mine that I got mind for free)
