Allen.

Some arguments from wikipedia:

The tool is simple, small and light.
The contact surfaces of the screw or bolt are protected from external damage.
There are six contact surfaces between bolt and driver.
The tool can be used with a headless screw.
The screw can be inserted into its hole using the key.
Torque is constrained by the length and thickness of the key.
Very small bolt heads can be accommodated.
The tool can be manufactured very cheaply, so one is often included with products requiring end-user assembly.
Either end of the tool can be used to take advantage of reach or torque.
The tool is L-shaped.

as much as i dont like diamond, i must say there bolts are very good. when you put them in a fresh board they sit flush perfectly and your grip doesnt get all fucked up around them and they are nice and small
ha this is exactly what I was going to post.  I fucking hate diamond, but god damn it do I respect their hardware.

Also, we need torx head hardware.  Although I usually break hardware before they strip out.

Phillips. Skating a set of Indy 7/8's and they're treating me just fine.
Never really cared too much about hardware, the only time I ever broke hardware was with a set of Bones hardware. Them shits snapped one after another after a certain amount of time. Other than that I'll run a set of hardware for ages.

Phillips if you're not a bitch. Allen is unnatural and makes me sick.
Fuck you!

You probably hang out with Richie, Brink and put your bolts up each others arses.

I've always preferred allen, if I needed bolts and there wasn't any it wasn't a big deal. About two years ago I had a set of old phillips that stripped during a day trip to a park kinda far away, it was a total nightmare trying to get them off and setup up a new board at the park. Since that day, it's strictly allen for me. As previously stated, diamond hardware is the best. Tiny bolts that don't screw up the top ply and grip tape, gold bolt, extra black bolt, and tools all in the package.

Allen head heathens will be judged by their maker in the next life. God loves everyone, even the sodomites, but His love is wasted on the hexagonal heretics. Repent!

Someone did. Random was the hardware you hammer in so you didn't need a phillips or allen key, right??

feels so wrong beating a new deck with a hammer and it turned out to be more of a hassle than just using regular hardware for me. cute bolts though.

allen.

project hardware was fucking sick. i'd still use it but the board i had those bolts on found a wet grave in the beautiful rhine river.

i agree with whoever said we need torx bolts. impossible to strip down. seeing as some on here keep their bolts under the grip, why do you do that? it looks super weird and makes it a bitch to set up a new board. when i worked at a shop kids with the bolts under their grip wanting me to set up their new trucks was the worst. i probably alienated a few with my rants about how stupid i find it to keep your bolts hidden and basically out of reach.

randoms work good, but as already said i'd hate to beat on a new board with a hammer...

Shorty's Silverados - 1" phillips

I've personally never stripped a phillips head bolt (while setting up a board), but I can see why people choose allen bolts.
