he's going to play the "elephant in the room" angle and say that the show format had to be changed to save the show because of financial reasons and that he was trying to save the show while everyone was working against him. he's going to down play the "small sacrifices" that the kids had to make in order to get such a "tremendous opportunity" and frame it as all in the name of a greater good. he's going to say how the greater good would be sacrificing the appeal of the show with core skaters a bit by making it have appeal with jocks and reality show types so that the show could go on and kids could continue to get hooked up. he's then going to try and make it look like the kids weren't willing to do the same kinds of things that every pro has to do and do some kooky stuff to promote those that are hooking them up.

it's really obvious what he's going to say.

what he's not going to say is that he was being selfish, not selfless. he was mostly interested in creating a profitable show for his own benifit.

he's not going to mention that he wasn't concerned about appealing to core skaters at all. he skates, films, etc... and knew full well he was selling out the show, judges, sponsors, slap, collin and the kids for his own benifit.

he's not going to mention that he screwed all the core companies that were involved for the corporate companies. i don't recal seeing any blatant blackbox, 5 borro, torro, iron claw, etc... product placements but you couldn't miss the cheesy mountain dew placements.

honestly fuck it, it's a show about a contest in skateboarding, there shouldn't be contest in skateboarding to go pro, skating is not about going pro it's about having fun. alex klein was just trying to use this to bolster his career, you can call him out for it but in reality it is the whole concept that sucks. alex klein just did what most people would do who work in skateboarding, which is ironically not a well-paying job and not staffed by people who skate. that's why shit like this can happen. don't hate the player hate the game.
