That was a cool video. I really disliked the whole animal planet crap in the video. But the skating made up for it. Some impressive stuff from every rider.
I didn't think the final section was the strongest though. Saw more from Evan Smith which made me say "WTF."

Trent McClung really impressed me.
Why does his legs remind me of Manny Santiago's? Like his legs are hell of small or something. Dude kills though. All those McClung kids kill.

Madars Apse and Evan Smith had best parts in my opinion. Madars trick selection is really refreshing. And that hurricane that Nick Garcia did was massive. That spot is scary just to look at in person.

It's almost 700mb... I doubt iTunes would give you a better rip (or DVD for that matter)

and

had best parts in my opinion.
After rewatching it I have to agree. These two guys really do their own thing. Instead of having the gnarliest/techest/freshest tricks they just concentrate on what they think is cool. The other kids were all super good but they don't stick out as much as Madars/Evan. Skateboarding is so much more than doing every single trick at all the approved spots.
The editing/story was a good idea just executed terribly. If it was meant to be funny , it wasn't. If it was meant to be serious , it wasn't.
I really wish it was one or the other but it just came off as half-assed. I mean , at least hire a voice actor.
Filming was overall really good but what limits HD is the sound. You can't hear and 'feel' the footy has much. On some tricks all you hear is rolling and a "thunk" for the landing. It really separates the viewer from how gnarly all the skating is. Yes I know this has been discussed forever but it still remains the biggest hindrance
All and all it was a good watch.

Julian and Evan set my expectations really high with their recent parts. Not saying they disappointed me, just seemed like their Element parts were more about doing hard tricks than being creative like in the other ones. With that said.. Evan should be pro. Boo and Madars did some awesome shit, and not so awesome shit. Save the laser flips and 3 shoves please. Garcia is awesome but a couple flip tricks wouldn't hurt. And yeah the narration was stupid.

That was rad. Evan and Madars' parts were amazing. Nick Garcia had a good part too. Everything else was pretty generic and boring but still good.

No one really talking about Boo? Boo's got such smooth style. So good to watch. Madars, though, was sick favorite part by far.
I would love to see Madars on Polar, glad he's getting that Element money though.

Yea, I really liked Evan's part, too. His ender between the two banks was sick - very unexpected

In the latest AM issue of Thrasher, there was a sequence of Evan Smith's ender and in the caption in the corner it said that their was a crazy behind the scenes bidding war from a bunch of companies all trying to get Evan to ride for them. In the end, obviously Element and DC won out, but it would be really interesting to know which companies were involved in the bidding. That being said, this is a pretty clear example of DC and Billabong Corp.'s financial strength whereby the other companies involved probably didn't stand a chance. Get that money Evan!

I know the link was posted earlier but it was broken for me when I tried it because I think he left on some extra numbers that weren't needed.

re-watched skipping through all the stupid-ness . . . if the parts were just put together (excluding the intro's); this video would be amazing, I really enjoyed the skating. It's funny how the double angles make up for the lack of lines

Element has a past with not recognizing ams for their potential and fucking it up in general. I think the only people they've turned pro (in my memory/when i started to care about that stuff around 2000) have been brent atchley, levi brown, and tony tave. While Levi still seems to be an important part of the brand, Brent and Tony seemed like they didn't want that kind of responsibility (being pro for a Billabong subsidiary) and they have lost a lot of young talent over the years. Let's see, those who made it like tyler bledsoe, collin provost, and dallas rockvam (in europe tho i guess) and then theres some who had potential but were cut like jimmy lannon, justin schulte, or mike barker. They lost some of the guys that I associated with element when i first started skating like kenny hughes, tosh, jake rupp, colt cannon, and so many more. And most recently they cut Darrell. It's like every time they make a good move or support someone who deserves it they fuck over another person, and have lost a lot of people as a result. Let's hope for the best in Evan Smith's future, a dude who clearly deserves pro status (if not now, soon). Regardless, I would never buy element stuff so I guess its all irrelevant.
