I know some people didn't like his section cause it was too "artsy" or whatever, but to me, this is honestly art. Russell is a master of the VX1000(see the entire Osiris Feed the Need vid he filmed) and knows about the raw skating. I feel like this is way above the new wave of HD filming. A lot of the HD footage now is just gone about trying to replicate how people used to film before and that will never compare to the VX. This clip has some shots that are seriously beautiful and I appreciate it in on a different platform than how I normally view skating sections. I really think it's an amazing video and has some awesome skating to go with it.

That being said, I'm a little drunk and actually broke my pinky toe about 20 minutes ago and I'm in bed in a lot of pain. Good night fellow slappers.

the time lapse stuff just looks like shit with the skating on top, but he is super good at filming well and also being cinematic

Second favorite edit in cinematographer project, the first is obviously aws section.

To be honest I thought the time lapse stuff looked cool with the skating on top, and I really liked the stars moving too.

I don't know if it looks like shit, but it's definitely strange. I like time lapse footage too, but it's disorienting with the skating in it.

EDIT: Is Russell Houghton contracted as any team's filmer? Like, Analog and Gravis? Or is he just kind of free lance? Because I had never heard of him before this section.

He's a good filmer and it's an impressive edit. But I would never actually watch it again now i've seen it a few times. So I wouldn't class it as a great skate montage.
