I know a few of you have been to or are spending time in Japan. Anybody have any stories about this place? Probably the most interesting doc that Vice has put out since the Liberia video series.

This is already kind of old. I don't like how Vice doesn't make it easier to find new videos. You can click on a section like News and it will show the newest videos but they are mixed in with lots or articles that aren't usually that great. You're missing some really good ones if you say you haven't seen a decent one since Liberia. Vice guide to Congo was good, Bride Kidnapping in Kyrgyzstan, and especially North Korean Labor Camps in Russia. Pretty much everything found here is good:

I remember thinking this guy had the craziest voice during this doc, very unsettling. It was always a bit weird coming into work for my Japanese company the day after watching something like this, Issei Sagawa, or that Genki Eel porn shit on Vice.

ive been there a few times. never saw any dead bodies, but i didnt stray off the paths while hiking. its so easy to get lost in there... but its a really cool looking forest. the 864 eruption sent huge amounts of lava down the side of the mountain (basically the lava divided a big lake into 2 lakes), there are Laval flow caves (you can explore some) and the lanscape of the forest is really beautiful... its a bit eerie knowing its the worlds second most popular suicide spot though
and donkey lips, its well know amongst locals as the suicide forest... i think on average they FIND 20-30 bodies a year in there...
couple of old pics of aokigahara
the forest
this just talks about the eruption and lava flow and how it split the lake and created caves
