they have always been good in my book. although i still prefer thunders or indy's over them they are my 3rd choice and wouldn't mind skating a pair if i came up on em. only thing i've seen is the cracked baseplates.

This is so ridiculous. You've only rode one truck, so how on earth do you think you're in any position to say how good they are? I've seen you post this statement numerous times and can't bite my tongue any longer.

I don't really care what you think. He might like them, and that's perfectly fine. But if it's one of a million truck recommendation threads, he really doesn't have enough insight to be saying much other than he's happy with them. I keep seeing him post about how great they are and it's just silly

I thought I read on here they changed(improved) the turning geometry for Ventures recently?

Used to be all about the featherlights, but when they changed the green bushings they never turned the same IMO. Last few sets I tried either you tightened them til you could barely turn, or have the nut fall off every other hour.

ventures have always been my go-to trucks. indy's & thunders are cool but i just prefer ventures and never had problems with them.

i haven't tried the p-rod hollow lights yet but the v5's are pretty good and have improved in terms of weight.

I have no idea when they switched, but I rode the Venture superlight lows for probably 4 years? - up until last Fall.

I liked them. I did have one incidence of a snapped kingpin, but other than that, they were solid. The bushing were kind of a pain to break in (I guess most trucks are), but with bones bushings in, they were really nice.

Like I said, last fall I lost my complete and built a new one and decided to go with Theeves. I prefer the added height, and they feel a touch more responsive, but I wouldn't lose sleep if I had to ride Ventures. But, as I said before, I have no idea when they switched, but the pairs I had were already pretty good.

I've skated indy, thunder, and venture. Ventures are always my go to trucks though. The V5 wides reminds me of thunders a little, they kinda have a rebound in the turning. The whites bushings that come in deluxe Ventures are really good too.

Yo, B.T. logically speaking, star wars is totally right.
And "DASK8DOOD" knows what's up? Based on what, his warm feelings towards Ventures? You just said 2 dumb things in just as many posts. The guy writes in Ebonics on purpose...

This.  Tate obviously skates a lot and knows his shit.  I'm currently skating Ventures and like them a lot.  I buy trucks about once a year and switch it up amongst the big three, depending how I'm feeling at the time.

The only pair of ventures I had snapped and were the only pair of trucks that I ever had that happen. I'm sure it could of been a defective pair or something. I've been skating thunders lately but I would love to give ventures a second chance.

Dudes, I'm not saying anything about the quality of Ventures. Like the other dude said, he obviously likes Ventures and is happy with their performance, this we definitely know.  However, the point of this whole back-and-forth is that he has no point of comparison, as he has admittedly never skated another truck. We are not talking about if Ventures are good are not, we are talking about if Tate is qualified to speak on their quality RELATIVE to other trucks.

Yes, I do appreciate his posts in the shoe thread, and sometimes he posts good clips, too. However, I'm not so partial to all the Falllen shoes he posts, but now we are just getting into personal preference. We are definitely not discussing the quality of Fallen compared to other shoes.

Thank you gentlemen, specifically Dask8dood and Tate, I hope you are having a good Sunday evening and had a good weekend of skating. I, on the other hand, have been working all weekend. Tomorrow is a different story.

Adieu.

ventures suck balls.  i used to buy it because it was the cheapest truck, and had a pretty ill team. but when i went through three pairs in one summer i had to go back to a legit brand.  i've had the base plates and hangers crack.  If you take off your bushings, it's super hard to get back on.  But the worst was when i'd bend the hangers from landing an ollie.  i'm no fat ass(6'1" 165lbs), so it was annoying to no end noticing that at the end of an uneventful skate session.

Oh, and like the dude said above, they make it in the same factory so the only thing changing is the marketing.  but if you like Royals, then you'll like ventures.  basically on the same level of garbage-ness.

I'm skating some of the newer "v2" theeve csx's now, they're fine, but they still break bushings, which sucks considering they're bones. Has anyone skated some of the newer venture hi v5 models, hows the turning and the kingpin clearance? The kingpin clearance was the only thing that bugged me about the lows, but otherwise they locked in for stuff like crooks soooo nice. The venture highs look like they have the best kingpin clearance out of the big 3 truck companies, plus high trucks tend to turn better in my experience.
