Really liked the last two tricks.  Half the stuff he does is cool, but the other half is just sorta weird.  Not really into his trick selection.

yeah his flatground looks shitty like mine. You don't need to shoehorn in a low nollieheel on flat just to force a "line", Matt.
tons of ledge dancing in there too.

but that hating aside, still a pretty fucking awesome part. He made some pretty cutty spots look too easy, and more than a handful of stuff I've never seen before, done almost too casually.

wow i enjoyed that part a lot more than i expected to, he really has great control and style with shuv its. i actually disagree about the flatground comments, his stuff has a nice mellow flow.
i will say that 360 flips out of lipslides and half-cab crooks back to regs are both gross tricks though

I am with you about the lipslide 360 flips, but I've always kind of liked half cab crooks back to regular for some reason. Aside from that, the bluntslide pop out on that flat bar was really cool.

idk I disagree with the general consensus. not to be an asshole, but I don't think he's a hipster (though that ronson lambert comparison was apt), I think he's just 17 and into what he's into. I was kinda into the song, but think it could've been edited slightly more carefully, yet for what it stands as, it was great. I was kinda surprised he wasn't matched with deerhunter, which seems right up his alley.

I have a tendency to be a bit skeptical when it comes to kids who land everything perfect, and also those who are nollie heel inclined. I think the difference between matt and a lot of other kids is that he has a great sense of humor, it shines through in the skating. it was the same way with cory kennedy, as well as mark suciu, those kids with quick feet who can do just about anything on a ledge. I think if we see him outside of that context, shit will hit the fan.
