This is blatantly a joke. I don't know how it's even up for discussion.

It's a lot of filming and effort for a joke.. and Greco already says shit like "skateboard and rock n roll are my religion" so it's not like that's a giveaway.
It could easily be fake but I really don't think it's that obvious.

^that

we're talking about the self proclaimed "degenerates" of the industry here, theyre after the gold.
like they give a single shit about making a conscious effort to jokingly criticize reality TV
besides theyre not smart enough to even bother making such social comment, their rockstardom/carelessness is too much up their heads,
and rightfully so because thats what makes them who they are

id watch the shit out of that show,
very high.

It definitely was not a joke I distinctly remember being in my friends basement and seeing a commercial air for it on MTV in like 2005, maybe 2006, at like 1 am.

If you guys think they were being dead serious about this I don't know what to tell you.. Is it really that hard to believe that the Baker dudes would be like "Hell yeah, let's do this. It'll be funny and we'll probably get some money from it" ? Um, okay.  Roll Eyes

They hired Don Lafontaine as a joke?  Not buying it.  Real Deal Holifield.  Shit's whack 'Boss.  Deal with it.  It's not as bad as getting slapped around by Trainwreck.

No matter what this is bad.  I mean really bad.  I can see the boss just wanted to make a buck for his daughter.  He does not really lose face here, neither does the god like creature that is Dollin.  Tk too.  I mean how could Tk lose face, as it is really not possible.  But the video exposes the others as being well, really cool guys.  It is like they tried to sell out and failed.  Now one could argue that egg on the face of a Baker means nothing, but one could easily argue that to them that is all that matters.  They want a certain image, and that video makes them look like modern day faggots.

there's no way it's a joke.  like someone said, that would be a lot of work.  looks like a reality show that never happened.

what i find most confusing is, is that Greco with Stephen Spielberg at 4:19?

Can't believe I've broken years of lurking 'cos of this. Anyway, the video in the link is certainly real, in the sense of it not being put together as a joke. It's a 'sizzle reel' that production companies make in the hopes they can sell the series to a tv network. It was probably shown around at some kind of conference like the 'Reel Screen Summit' which is where everyone goes with this stuff.

If there's a 45 minute version floating around, it's probably the attempted first episode.

I would've watched the show, but it's probably lucky for all the skaters involved that it didn't get picked up. The production company however wasted a lot of time and money on it.

And is it just me, or does the Boss look like an early Hunter S Thompson clone in that vid?

Theres definitely a full pilot for this show out there. There was talk about MTV turning their nose up at it like 4 years ago...but somehow I think they ran some other skateboard show with Jimmy Cao on it.
