you say for a year? around the time he probably began skating... maybe his new hobby is distracting him from the tunes. i used to be really into wayne in the same era you described, but i soon just began to get tired of all those shitty mixtapes after the carter 3 and just gave up. i'll still listen to that old stuff for sure though on a rare occasion.
