holy shit i forgot about phantom. i definitely got conned into buying a pair when i first started skating. i broke my kingpin and didn't know it was replaceable at the time, and when i brought my board into the shop the guy told me that it was game over for those trucks. got some blue phantoms and those bad boys blew up from an intense slappy noseslide shortly after getting them.

Should be more specific, who as in person/bakery/country? Anyway I would say kane sumabat, he thrives on them and is looking pretty juicy so they must be pretty good. The shiny aspect definitely helped, didn't know about the riser pads. I don't like riser pads very much.

Just skated them, they ride pretty good.
I honestly notice no difference with any other truck, turn fine, grind fine. The only thing is they squeek a little bit and are still a bit stiff, but that's expected with new trucks.

Well couple months on, skated most days, phantoms still function great.
I can say with certainty now, the bad reviews everywhere are bullshit.
