Last week it was announced in the press that Moonshine Movies' has received funding for their shock documentary GNARLY: THE BEN PAPPAS STORY. Last year Ben Pappas' family discovered that Mike Hill of Moonshine Movies was filming interviews claiming he had their support for a film about Ben. In October 2010 Ben's family sent a letter to Moonshine asking Mike Hill to stop as they had not consented to the film nor been informed of it's production until it was well underway. Mike Hill has ignored the family's wishes and is pushing on. Ben's family is deeply upset by this news and the way Mike Hill falsely obtained his interviews. The family is taking steps to stop Mike Hill and his production. They do not want to see Ben?s life story sensationalized in this exploitative manor. That shit sucked. Whole film was made around a cool, catchy title. 411 and On Video already did a better job telling those stories.

regardless of who he was or what he did, if i were his family i would definitely not be okay with someone making a documentary about what a fuck up my kid was.

As it seems, Ben Pappas fucked up and took the easy way out. His family is left to deal with it. If someone wants to be a fuck and profit from that then it's their legal right, doesn't make them morally right and if they were  falsely claiming the family was supportive or even involved, then the family has a right to speak out.

I don't know the story but was there hard evidence backing up the murder allegations?

I'd watch this documentary. As with anything it would be nice if it was done with some journalistic integrity, doesn't sound like it is.

In the end, I hope the final outcome is whatever's in the family's best interest. They're the ones who get left to deal with the mess and the pain so they're more important than some fuck who wants to make a buck on the story, but in the end I don't know the facts well enough to form a real opinion on the topic.

An Australian man alleged to have imported 600g of cocaine into Australia from New Zealand by packing it inside two skateboards has appeared in Sydney Central Local Court.

The man was stopped at Sydney Airport by Customs officers last night, after arriving on a flight from Auckland.

They suspected drugs might have been concealed inside two skateboard decks, and an X-ray revealed a suspicious image.

The skateboard decks were taken apart, allegedly revealing three packages containing a white powder which preliminary testing indicated was cocaine, The Australian newspaper reported.

The man was arrested by the Australian Federal Police and charged with attempting to import a marketable quantity of a border controlled drug for which the maximum penalty is 25 years imprisonment and/or a A$550,000 fine.

Am thinking this wasn't Tas. Ben was convicted of smuggling in coke through his own pro model shoe (nice touch). Tas did just get out of jail though... Anyone have a link or info???

Further more, Ben was never convicted of killing his girlfriend. I'll admit it looks dodgy him 'committing suicide' a few days afterwards, but also understand that that was also never proven. I'll quote: "Police are treating his death as suspicious and not necessarily as a suicide". From what I understand, the girlfriend's family had ties or were directly involved in the biker scene in Melbourne. Perhaps someone got to him before the police did.
