Can we stop talking about this guy already?
He hit his peak 5-6 years ago when people still cared about tech ledge tricks
. Obviously he's good but everyone is these days. If he weren't boring as fuck, had an ounce of marketability, and filmed an impressive part, he'd have turned pro already. But he is, doesn't, and hasn't. Tommy Fynn is the same story. Some of you act like anyone who can flip into a back noseblunt should be pro. But guess what, there's more to turning pro than that. Accept it and move on.
WHAT...?
Let me guess, you only started skating 5-6 yrs ago right...
i started skating in 1993, am i allowed to comment on this?
he hit his peak as an "am to watch" and he never did anything past that. he has a great trick selection and a great style, but he hasn't done shit else. to get a board on mystery all he had to do was film a part. that's it. windsor james isn't part of the new push of guys like carlin and asta, but he filmed a part and got a board because that was all he had to do. there was the interview with dennis durrant right when he got on skate mental where he said he just had to film a part, and if this him being off skate mental rumor is true, that's the second time he didn't do the one thing that would've gotten his name on a board.
how
has
he deserved it?
If only things were that simple?
Dennis is always out skating, and always either filming or trying to film. He puts in work. Anyone that says anything else either is just an observer from a distance or just has no actual idea and is just making their own opinion from shit they read, because everyone that knows or skates with knows that he isn't lazy at all.
Sometimes shit doesn't work out with a company; that's it. He deserves a legit board hook up and is still as relevant today as ever. A couple months ago on a trip he clocked so much good shit, that will soon be getting released.
I don't doubt for a second that he's out there skating, but he isn't out there filming. And that's the catch. The talk is essentially "why isn't his name on a board?" and we all know why his name isn't on a board. He hasn't produced and like it or not, that's what you have to do to get your name on a board. He should have his pro model because of what he does and the way he does it, but if I were the person to decide if his name popped up I'd have to pass. He isn't doing anything for anyone, and that's how the industry works. He's been given clear direction on what he has to do, and it just isn't going to happen. I welcome the Dennis Durrant game changer video part, but does anybody honestly believe it's coming? People lose sponsors and disappear for lack of output all the time. Dennis Durrant is another one of them.
He is definitely out there filming. I know that for a fact. He quit Mystery before putting out a part because they weren't paying which is totally understandable. Same thing with Circa. I know he's got a good amount of footage but I'm sure he was still filming so he could put out an awesome Skate Mental part. Don't forget he had this little throwaway Circa part come out last year.
C1RCA IS... Dennis Durrant

Seriously like the most controlled I've ever seen that trick done. He didn't even dip it down all the way, he was balancing perfectly on the truck without using the nose for leverage.

That was incredible, I like how that kickflip back crook bounced off the rail too haha. Hopefully he'll find a good board sponsor soon. Skate Mental seemed perfect though. He wasn't even on for a year, I wonder what happened.

Someone needs to tell Dan Wolfe to get a real fucking camera, this is skateboarding you're not making a fucking short indie film. That AF100 looks like shit for skateboarding...get with it.

Just read the skate mental site it's funny brad staba said the same exact thing Jamie said, that Dennis is one of the most amazing skateboarders on the planet, I'm guessing he puts in no effort to keep in touch with his sponsors or something like that, the world may never know

Did you read any of this thread or no?
EDIT: And regardless of the fact that he's no longer on Skate Mental, why would he be in the Girl/Chocolate video? SM hasn't been distributed by Crailtap for a few years now.
