sex changes otherwise known as body varials are fer sure the next trend
dude makes em look rad. some crazy ones in here. actually the whole thing is insane
Clint Walker Skate Movie Part (9 of 11)
I think body varials are nicer when there's not a flip involved. He had some nice ollie ones.
Damn he was feelin that last rail 5-0 and smith kickflip on the same decent sized rail. That was rad.

fuck this thread - I'm so goddamn glad I watched that.
Seriously. I'm, like, a little giddy right now.
he makes every single trick look super proper: body varials, shuvs, rail chomping, tech stuff. Dude's an animal
4:00 5-0 on the ledge, kickflip out to nose manual was sick
4:11 massive gap - looks dangerous as hell. You have to have some big balls and just go for it, otherwise you could end up on one of those metal fences.
Looked him up and he's on Birdhouse. Hopefully that means he'll be on Baker within a couple years. Dude rips so hard

Doing tricks on ledges without ollieing into them (like slappies). Janoski has been doing lots of switch crookeds just riding into them. I wanna see more, like a slappie backside smith or switch slappie 5050s on high ledges.
reading this made me think i might have been posting on a thread that was quite old, as this is quite popular. im still not sure whether this is an old thread or not
Oh, your right, it definitely has been quite popular for a while now and truthfully people have been doing stuff like that for decades. But I think it could and will be taken further in the near-future, which is natural for every form of skating that people concentrate on doing - it will evolve.

definitely body varials but people will start doing them the wrong way (i.e. backside heel flip/ frontside body varial). i used to have a mean backside pressure flip/ frontside body varial back in the early 90's.

I hope for frontside 360s but afraid simplistic style with long lines down hills will dominate videos to come.

I see more guys doing double flips to slides and grinds.
I expect to see more double flip backtails, 360 double flip lipslides, double kickflip nosegrind etc.

A lot of really ugly shit being mentioned in this thread. Or trends some people never actually started. Like olson starting a "trend" of people doing lines. Seriously? Do you listen to yourself?
One trend id like to see happen is people gapping large portions of long rails before getting into their grinds. It grinds a lot faster and it looks a lot better. Leo did it at a few long ass rails and i wish he would do it more often instead of how most people grind long rails where they hop on and sit on em. was not a fan of that thrasher clip. I cant wait until elijah starts doing them and people give him some really undeserved credit for doing it first. Like the polejam to grinds. Matt benett got those popping.

A resurgence of curb and bump skating by the early 20's crowd (combined with today's low tech street tranny, we are liable to see some pretty weird shit) and the younger dudes will copy whatever Elijah Berle does on the Girl/Chocolate vid.

It would be sick if people would skate over people more. Like, when nyjah did the cab slide on the wilshire and there was a girl walking up or down the stairs. Some pro needs to ollie over someone walking up stairs. Or ollie over the Gonz falling down a staircase.
Slappie popover in lines.
Unpremeditated long lines.
360's out of grinds.

I dunno if any of you have seen that new clip of Josh Kalis for his new DC shoe. But he does this crazy ledge trick. Fakie 5-0 impossible out or something like that. Can someone get the video? It's his last trick.
