Colorado skateparks

later this month will be the second time this year work has brought me to Colorado for a couple of weeks. I am hoping that some of you guys can recommend a skatepark or two. I will be staying in Glenwood Springs. I will have a car and would be willing to drive somewhere in the range of an hour or so if it's worth it.
I should also mention that only really am interested in parks that have significant street/street plaza sections. Last time I was there, on someone's recommendation, I took the bus for an hour to Carbondale (I was staying in Aspen), and was pretty bummed when I came across what I consider a pretty scary transition-only park. Sorry, but a gargantuan 30 foot full pipe is not my idea of a chill Saturday afternoon session. I think most other people may have shared my sentiments, as it was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, and I wa the only person there.
I Will be very grateful if someone can help me out with some info. I'm only working a few hours a day and definitely want to skate as many days as I can...

Carbondale is where it's at. Sorry if you're afraid of going really fast.

Thank you for your helpful advice and your passive aggressive insult.
And thank you for paying attention to the fact that I was asking for advice and help finding a park in that area that is more "street" oriented, not large trannies, including cradle and full-pipe.
Seeing as you are from the area, it may have taken you the same amount of effort to have actually posted something helpful.
So, can we start over and try this again?
Or of anyone else could please chime in on a constructive level, that would be great.

The majority of team pain parks in Colorado have mostly transitional stuff with some rails and ledges to the side.
Some good parks are Denver Park, Parker, Arvada, Broomfield, Northglenn, and Colorado Springs.

I'm not from there. And you're welcome. Go skate street if you want to skate street.

Wow! Thank (most of) you guys for such helpful comments. I'm stoked.
I should have been more descriptive and eloquent in my description of what I was looking for. Not interested in limiting myself to ledges and manual pads, but yes, a place like Carbondale is definitely intimidating and not fun for me.
And I agree with some of your sentiments about street skating. However, I live in Manhattan, and am looking forward to enjoying a change of pace. Also, I do have a number of hours to skate during the day, but not quite enough for "spot seeking" in an unfamiliar place.
I really hope Lafayette park is within driving distance from the Glandale Springs areaon parker and Colorado Springs look great, too. I don't know much of anything about the geography of Colorado. Any other suggestions would be great! Thanks again.

Absolutely go to Arvada and Lafayette. You might really like Commerce City, check that one out too.

I actually did hit another skater in the face with my shoe once at a demo doing a shoes fly off kickflip but he was cool with it.

So I just checked out some of the locations of the parks you guys recommended. I'm bummed to discover that they are all relatively close to Denver, which means they are close to a 3 hour drive from where I'll be staying in Glennwood Springs.
Does anyone know of any well round parks closer to where I'll be staying?

Thanks, man. I literally looked at every park on that colorado skate park guide sexier (where that long ass list that the dude posted above came from, then calculated the driving distances on distancebetweencities.net and the ones that seem worth skating(some more than others) within an hour and a half drive are:
DeBeque, Del Norte, Edwards, Grand Junction, Gypsum, New Castle, Rifle, Silverthorne, Snowmass
When I said worth skating, I meant by East Coast standards, and not too intimidating.
Anyone have any suggestions based on this list?
The Denver area seems to have such a ridiculously high concentration of sick parks within an hours drive from it. Too bad that's too far for me to venture this trip.
Thanks again for looking out.
