adidas Skateboarding Melbourne Feature

I was thinking how much adidas is killing it and how much every other shoe company is blowing it, but then realized everyone on the team isn't really filming for anything else so its probably fairly easy to get the whole team together and make these awesome trip videos.most of the guys on lakai and nike, for example, are all filming for "Pretty Sweet" and don't have time for web clips. On another note adidas could probably hold onto all these clips and make a full video but maybe they think this consistent drawn out strategy will work better than a full video. Or! these web/trip videos are all throw away footy for a full video...?....

Half the team is on Cliche and they've got a vid that's supposed to be out this year - i know Boglio will be cracking the whip, but lets be honest with Lem and Lucas, they just bang out consistent amzinginess all the time, so there stuff is always golden, Edridge - it's good he's actually getting coverage, so it'll be interesting to see what he puts out for a full part

Chewy is also filming for a Palace part - again, super consistent and always has footage

Dennis - well lets face it, he's sick, and footage of him is always amazing, the Real video sucked ass compared to his Adidas part(s) and the footage in the Transworld vid

I think Adidas are pretty much one if the only company out there that consistently delivers sick little vids and keeps popping up with footage - i REALLY hope there's another Adidas vid pretty soon, if they're sitting on any footage - it's going to be sick

But the entire team is consistent, very remanisant of the old days for "make a part in a week" - which is what i'd rather see that this - "we've been filming for the last 5 years for this video crap" - who cares, i would rather see what Dennis is doing on his way to the shop to get nappies, than the forgotten footage from 2006....

yea I agree with everything you say but lets face it, crailtap is probably cracking the wip a lot harder than Palace or cliche ever would. Like if Chewy got a call from adidas to film I think he would take up that offer over a call from Palace. That (in a nut shell) shows how much control these big shoe companies have over the industry, which is funny because you don't even need certain shoes to skate

Dude, if you have mistakenly come here for an intellectual discussion on the merits of the Adidas skateboarding team and the endless ability of the members of said team, with there seeming inability to film or release anything other than the highest quality product, in your opinion, your are sadly mistaken.

Theories, although they're all sold out at the moment.  Seasons also has shirts up on their website, and I think they'll ship to here.

At first I thought you were calling me smart but then I got lost in your response and felt dumb. I guess I just wanted to know what you guys thought about adidas tour videos vs. a full video (and weather or not they should even be compared cuz they might make a full vid anyway)

I can't say that I see adidas putting out a full length for a while. When they put out Diagonal a few years ago they blew my mind, their European team is fantastic (+Busenitz and the Gonz) and I can only hope they do. But I do see Chewy putting a Palace part over and adidas part, the board sponsor is still a skateboarder's defining sponsor.

I like DVD's but I like web stuff as well. The tour videos have a lower commitment production model and are probably easier to incorporate into quarterly marketing budgets. They've all been pretty amazing, and fewer clips end up on the cutting room floor than in a full length, so I think they should keep doing it.
