I can rarely get them to flip straight. They usually either turn into nollie hardflips or nollie backside flips. Anyone else?

nollie flips are one of the only flip tricks i can actually do without a struggle. i can't understand why you'd be having those problems, try going in a straight line i guess?

Yeah, I'm figuring it's my shoulders, but when I concentrate on keeping them straight, I can't flick all the way. I'm just a slow learner. It's ridiculous how long it's taken me to learn switch and nollie flips... Years. It took me years to learn how to kickflip too though.

try speeding it up a bit, it'll be worth a few primo's to learn a new trick. i find that helps me out personally, because i'll put more effort into it in hopes of not bailing.

front foot in the nollie pocket, back foot pointy in front of the back bolts, pop it, flick straight backward keeping you shoulders like your riding forward. thats the hard part, ninja kick that back foot out straight back.

now, just suck up your legs and catch it waist high. that'd be tight.

Go faster and think, "fakie flip".

I learned em and also nollie heels on a cruiser board with a small nose, i don't know if it makes sense, you have to really dip it to pop, but it also gave me a longer period of time to kick out the flip foot.
After that I took em to the regular board, and they came pretty easy (though i've kind of lost em again)

I think my trouble was actually thinking fakie flip haha. I fucked up my flicking ankle so I have no choice but to skate switch and nollie, so I'll hopefully get it this week. If not I'll just go ahead and kill myself.

I've said this before and I'll say it again.

Practice on carpet or grass until you can switch flip on command.

Now start rolling and do it nollie.

Focus on popping the nose really hard before anything else so you don't fairy flick and have the board rocket up on you.

Yeah forsure, I hate seeing those gay ass nollie flips like that, so I always make sure to pop hard, but I'll try that switch flip thing tomorrow, thanks dude.

Make sure your shoulders are straight when you do the trick, that was my friends problem, you just have to force your shoulders straight through the whole trick

Do you have your popping foot angled or straight? I used to do them with my front foot angled and they would always shift. Try keeping your front foot straight and just your flicking foot angled.

I never noticed before, but now that you mention it, it's sort of in between. When I get out, I'll try it totally straight. Thanks.

It was obviously an exaggeration. It did however take me probably years to learn how to kickflip.

The trick is in the 'duck feet' put your feet like a duck, like a 45 angle in the front foot and little less in the back foot, it works..I love nollie flips but I have a problem in my knee (the one for nollie/switch flips) and if I do too much switch skating my ligaments hurt a real lot, it's the worst..
