In all honesty, if you absolutely can't do it anymore, I'd reccomend you working in a trade. Like just work construction. Building houses or whatever. Look at it this way, the most expensive purchase most of us will make, will be a house. If you know how to repair a house, from top to bottom, you have HUGE leg up on most people. It's gratifying work, you'll learn a lot, you'l stay in shape, and most of those jobs pay half decent. Just a thought.

now here's some solid advice, and if this type of work is too hard for you you'll realize you were better off working hard in school so you can have a more easier job.

If you are going into a trade I would highly suggest HVAC. Besides if you live out west you will guaranteed have year round work. Also it is more of a necessity than being a carpenter, electrician or mason which lend them selves to new construction or work in times where people have money for add ons or unessential work. But people need their heat in the winter and their AC in the summer. But it is also one of the more difficult trades, if not the most difficult. Best of luck.

Yep so basically im in a 4 year school and knew form the start it wasnt for me.  Forced in by parents and the "right thing to do" im on my second year.

I fucking hate it, but need to be in school get health insurance.  Now i can work full time for that but that would also not be that tight since i cant get summers off and such. 

I need some sort of alternative, anyone do any trade school type things?  Im even open to certain full time jobs because id rather have some money and less time than all the bullshit invovled with college.  Just had the worst day, stressin pretty hard, just thought id see what the pals had to say.

I didn't ready any of the shit in the last three pages but first off don't make any decisions when you're having a bad day/stressed out. Set a reasonable timeline like finishing out the semester while checking out other options. Then make a decision over winter break.

Maybe make an appointment with your advisor and see what your schedule's gonna look like for the rest of your program. Meanwhile figure out what exactly you hate about school right now. If it's just a class or two with dickhead professors core curriculum you won't have to take again then maybe just sweat it out. If it turns out you hate something that'll be a common thread for the next three years than maybe you need a change.

Also does your school have a career center? If so see if you can go do some inventories like Myers Briggs and the Strong Interest Inventory. Talk to a counselor and try to figure out a trade that'll be a good fit with your interests/abilities/values. Then jump through the hoops necessary to chase down that trade.

Completely disagree.If it's not for you it is a waste of time and money.  I am in the same boat except my last year. I am planning on apprenticing to be a carpenter.  This is not to say if you're not going to do it be lazy.  My point is if you're not going to do it, invest your time in something that will benefit your career.  If I could go back.  I would have been apprenticing right out of highschool.

do trade school trust me, if you like skating its nearly impossible to not enjoy a trade.

doing anything besides trades or healthcare is just dumb

unless you are a genius, then be an astrophysicist or something
