Fuck yeah. What do you think they'll do once they've uploaded them all? Would be rad if they could start making new ones...

I just finished digitizing all of them a few months back.  It took me about 2 weeks and many hours of sleep lost.  Skateboarder mag will have them all up in about 6 years.  There's 67 issues + about 12 of the new format.

If its every month Its probly gonna take them a little over 6 years. I  kinda have a feeling they are not gonna stay committed to it for that long.

I'm a bit puzzled by Skateboarder Mag's announcement since I thought you, Skate.ly.com, and some other cool people at SLAP, already uploaded most of the 411 library....

So, what's skateboarder mag gonna do next?

Bring back vinyl records?

Getting rips from master VHS tapes would be tits. YouTube is awesome for clips, but a real video needs a downloadable file with a respectable bitrate.

doing new 411s would be fucking pointless at the rate that skateboarding content hits the internet these days anyway

I think new 411s could actually slow down the rate if people are sending video in and waiting for their issues. It would be cool to have a new montage every month featuring a band Ive never heard of. I also think the Rookies segments are needed now since new faces keep popping up with no context behind them. New issues could be great.

What's awesome is that my 27 year old cousin who stopped skating years ago calls me at 2:20am and says "guess what kid? Skateboarder is bringing back 411VM! Throw yo hands in the air if yous a true playa!"

That's too rad.

I like the commentary part. Making new issues is truly pointless, as others mentioned in this thread. But I definitely would enjoy new OnVideo style video articles on famous spots, videos that left impact on skateboarding... etc. Skateboarder personalties already are covered by Epicly Later'd.
