 Had a injury back in April, been bouncing around to a few different specialist trying to find out whats going on. Finally got in for a MRI and yeah Partial ACL tear was the outcome. They told me Physio for the injury no surgery cause its partial, just wondering if just physio worked for anyone? Im pushing for the total ACL replacement but so far the doctors are saying that they wont till its a total tear.

happened to me 3 years ago and i finally just fully tore it back in feb...pussy footing around with the partial tear was not fun because everything i did would sketch me out thinking i was going to fuck it up. took me a while to get back to my old level of skating, but i wish i just got the surgery back then so i wouldnt be wallowing in my own filth now. my knee gave out a few times too which was not a nice feeling. tell your doctors to get with it and do the surgery, it's the only way to get back fully to where you were prior to injuring yourself. i'm 10 weeks post surgery and get better everytime i go to physical therapy

I did a partial tear back in September, and have the same exact deal.  I chilled on it and rehabbed it and I feel almost capable of the stuff I used to be, but at the same time I definitely feel the same as ^^ this dude, that I'll never feel completely at ease unless I get the full surgery.  The knee really does feel pretty good at this point - I just haven't really jumped down anything really since I got hurt and I'm way too scared to for the most part, which is a bummer for sure. 

So short answer, yes - mental stuff aside, at this point, just getting my legs strong and doing physio did work for me and I'm back to skating and filming and stuff.  #1 thing to remember for staying strong is ride the fuck out of a bike.  It does wonders.

Yeah i think the mental aspect is the worst. Im stretching ( can touch my toes now, that was a celebration) and strength training daily plus physio. The bike i will start after the swelling goes down a bit. . Im going to be meeting with another specialist sometime in the next few months and going to push the surgery.  I turned 30 a few months back so this is a good welcome too and since i have been lurking on here for some 10 years its time to get those posts count up with this bit of free time i have acquired....  Roll Eyes
