So lazily flipping through the channels I saw that the X games were on and although it isnt my cup of tea it beat watching cops. While watching all the skaters be boring as shit I saw Sheckler's run and had to give him props. He was ripping up the course and finding a unique approach to a boring fucking event. In this shitty day most pros would be contest skaters if given the chance but yet Sheckler is still singled out as the bitch of them all when truthfully he was the most innovative skater in one of the biggest contest. If the Gonz was watching today im sure his favorite run would have been Sheckler's. Im not a fan of the guy for a number of reasons but as   a avid skateboard lover I dont give a fuck about your trick unless I can tell its you doing it. Skating right now can be so fucking boring because people are only pushing there technical skills and not the creative potential of their art. I hope this sparks some larger questions of Skateboarding in general. Again I wouldnt have believed I would be saying this but I thought it was curious.

i like sheckler's run more because it was really fluid, but Prod switch front blunting that rail back out to switch is absolutely retarded.

Actually watched the whole thing (icing my foot)
Sheckler was fun to watch. Check slide was a nice added touch.
The thing that sucks is it was just like watching the vert contests. Every run is the same. Once David Gonzales no comply 360 flipped that chain I didn't need to see it again. Was rad the first time. Not so rad the 4th.
The Law of Diminishing Marginal Utility comes into play.
They should start judging on variety and creativity. Shit got stale.

Isn't it pretty much accepted that Sheckler rips. People haven't really talked shit on his skating in years. I think not having a retarded reality show anymore has a lot to do with it too.

Well, PRod was going back and forward doing difficult tricks on same type obstacles and Sheckler ripped the park up. Still don't get how PRod won.

Sheckler's run was definitely the coolest, but did you fuckers see P-Rod's switch fs blunt and 360 flip? A++

Blows my mind that people are leaving companies run by established pros in favor of one run by Nick Trapasso, who I'm pretty sure can't county to twenty without taking off his shoes.

I agree the run got pretty boring to watch they didn't mix it up too much. Sheckler definitely used the course more and had a better flow to the run , at the same time PRod's switch front blunt/switch front board/switch tre flip were pretty damn smooth. It really looked like the course was kinda fucked like there wasn't a whole lotta run up for the rail and a lotta the things seem real close together.

you seriously loose points for tic-tacing to turn around but don't loose them for running into the wall to change directions like you are playing ea skate?

One thing you have to realize about Paul's winning run is that if it was cut together without all the in between trick stuff, you'd have a legit little street part. Switch kickflip over the rail, switch flip fs boardslide, switch front blunt down the rail and switch 360 flip down the big set. I'll definitely admit that Sheckler's run was more impressive from a transition point of view, but this was the street contest, not the park contest and Paul was rewarded for doing mostly all legit street tricks. Plus, Paul had really good style and all of his tricks were done flawlessly. Skateboarding is so subjective that rarely does the consensus agree, but I tip my hat off to Paul here and acknowledge that he did the best street tricks in the street contest.

Firstly doing a whole run prety much switch doesnt mean much for paul, we all know he doesnt really have a stance but i still get your point. On the same point sheckler had loads of legit street shit, tre flip street gap, couple blunt slides, front smith on bank to rail, dat back 3 etc
His style was way more smooth than prods (but thats too subjective, ive never been a fan of prods style) either way i was mostly judging it as if it were a part, which was more entertaining for me, rather than more technical. Contests are always gonna be hard to fairly choose the best person

Sheckler and Nyjah killed that course, dunno how P-Rod won.  Dude goes so slow and has to put his foot down on the banks to get going back down them.

I like how you guys have to make up an excuse to say you were watching the x-games, street league, berrics...

I mean, I'm the first guy that doesn't like skateboarding treated like a circus, but on my opinion, there's no shame in watching some of the best skaters in some sort of event.
