Alright so here's the deal. I recently purchased some of those new thunder 147 hi's because that was all my shop had at the time and they were supposed to be awesome. They were good until I broke the little nub that holds the truck in the pivot cup on a feeble, it split off rendering the truck useless. I'm going on a trip so I can't send them back in time. I have some god awful theeve csx's but the bushings are broken and the baseplate's are warped so the trucks wobble and can't go straight. I'll be running by my shop tomorrow so I gotta choose between some indys or ventures. I had a chance to try a friends indys, and they felt pretty great, really surfy and smooth grinds, but I hear the axel slips like a bitch and I dunno about the kingpin clearance. The new Venture's are supposed to be better since dlx dist. acquired them too. Any insight would be nice.

This. You'll never look back.

Best part is, when the bushings bust (usually around 6-8 months, unless you crank your shit down and ride super tight, then they'll probably bust pretty soon) you could take a picture of the busted bushings, send them in to bones, and theyll mail you a free replacement set. There's no losing.

might as well do this. the bushing is hanging over the yellow ring.

At the end of the day it may not effect your skating super drastically.

However, having said that, if the option is there and you don't get Indy's and put in the little extra effort required in putting in bones bushings, you really are selling yourself a little short. I have never had problems with Indy axle slippage.

Alright, so far I'm hearing pretty indy positive things, though if the bones bushings will just bust, why not just stick with my theeves which can already do that. I might just get the ventures with bones bushings if indys will just bust them.

They bust with any truck over time, usually around the 6 month mark for me (and I skate just about every day or every other day too). If you skate less frequently they'll probably last you longer. I've known someone who skated a set for a year and a half, it really just depends on the person.
And I've actually heard that the bones bushings last the best in Indys and a set of Ventures would probably bust them faster than a set of Indys would. With how their bushings are shaped, they sit the best on Indys. The shape matches Indys the best. They don't sit as well in a set of Ventures and aren't as accustomed to ventures geometry, and more pressure is put on the bushings when you turn, so they bust faster. Of course, this is just what I've heard...

Alright, well I'm getting indys anyway, on account of my friend bending the axel on his pair of ventures. Hopefully I won't get axel slip like I've read hear, but I can't remember the last time I've landed primo and I'm not heavy so no worries, plus life time guarantee.

I skated thunders for a good while and recently went back to try indys and I'm loving it. I got the koston light pro model with some bone medium bushings and it's perfect.

from what I read hear I feel like there's no reason to get venture.  I haven't had axle slip on Indys in years.  I wish krux made something the same width as the 159 that Indy (thank god) now makes.  I'd be sporting those.  My last set of bones bushings busted in a few weeks,  maybe I'll do without the top washer next time.

I thought about this the other day, and I wrote something down on a piece of paper but I can't remember where I put it or what it said.
