I think they are coming out with a jean thats a sort of reasonable $98 in August. Just doesn't have that stronger than steel crap material
No. That's not reasonable.

The other jeans is $200. So the $98 is more than half of that. Obviously more reasonable than the $200 ones. If someone is trying to get a pair.

No part of any of this is reasonable. At all.

Yet again, Nike tries to force unnecessary technology into skateboarding. Didn't they learn with the first Omar shoe? Why spend 200 (or 100 WHATADEAL) on pants that obviously get fucked up, as seen in the very ad itself, when you may as well buy more at a way cheaper price? The Quiksilver climacool jeans are the farthest from Levi's I go. Been wearing the Reese Forbes ones nonstop and they do everything those do for a fraction of the price and they don't grip my nuts like a starving hooker.

And the BMX shit is just laughable. Is their skateboarding line now nothing more than a concept clearance rack for all their other sports? Then again, they did just release cut-off USA military cargos for 60 bucks a pair, when the pants they're based on only run about $30 new.

Well its obvious from the pricing that this is not marketed towards skateboarders. And I can understand why.
I wonder if their SWOT analysis looked like this

Strengths:
Skateboarding is cool.
Skateboarders like tough jeans.
Levis and Nike have been in skateboarding for a while

Weaknesses:
Purists out there.
Price of jeans quite expensive, so the average skateboarder probably wont pay for it.

Opportunities:
Hipsters willing to pay that much money.
Sneakerheads willing to pay that much money.
Anybody who thinks skateboarding is "cool" but cant even tic tac are willing to pay that much money.
Upper-middle class white kid who actually skates will probably have his parents pay that much money.

Threats:
SLAP does not approve.

Anyone who buys these pants needs to reevaluate their priorities. If you should decided to purchase these anyway, I know some guys who've got some innovative beanies you might be interested in as well.

Those Salazar's are very nice. $200 for pants is fucking ridiculous, and I'm not surprised they are releasing cheaper ones, but $98 is still too much. It does makes sense to me however, most Levi's around here are expensive.

Comment pulled from youtube- "hmmm two multi national corporations owned by not-skateboarding rich white people who have employed in questionable sweatshop labor? Probably won't be spending money on these."

Pretty much sums it up for me.

Costanza--

These jeans are entirely made in the USA. There is a non-Nike version coming (not sure if this is the $98 version folks are mentioning; I believe it's almost a year away, not a few months, and I think that price is wrong).

They only made 2000 pairs. So most people won't own them no matter the cost. It's a hype piece. Still, they don't rip.

Thanks for clearing that up, still won't be buying these due to the fact that I can get some $30 dickies at walmart, and also because of my strong dislike for nike.

I am alright with products that will help skateboarders. The idea to have stretch materials with dry-fit seems like it would help. Quiksilver had them beat though, with basically the same idea but they had that reinforced hem at the bottom of thier jeans. Does anyone know if they still make those?

I'm willing to pay more than $100 for jeans and I'm not a hipster, sneakerhead, white upper-middle class, or have parents that buy me shit. Is it a crime to actually have taste and like expensive things that will probably last longer than a pair of $30 jeans? I see a nice pair of denim as an investment really. Wouldn't buy these wack skinny nike jeans though.
