I will say that skating a P2 actually makes a difference. I've tried a lot of the "technology" that companies have used and most, if not all, have just been an attempt to suck even more money out of people. Having said that, these actually work. They last long enough for normal use, and hold their shape and pop. Definitely worth it if you can find some on sale.

Don't be so quick to write them off as some gimmick when you haven't even tried one before.
Fuck all their lil marketing slogans n all that Ima tell you how it is from firsthand experience. I've skated 3 so far and they were all great.
They retain their stiffness much longer than regular decks and are lighter as well. It's a noticeable difference in deck life & flippablity. If you're like me and absolutely can't stand your board getting that flimsy ass pop after a few weeks then you'll love em. There's a reason why 3rd party technology is being used by multiple board companies, that's because it works!

Do the board shapes differ with each company or are they all the same? I have skated two zero p2 decks, the nose/tail were too small for my liking. Overall, really good boards. But does anyone know if there are some p2's with some fatter noses/tails?

Yeah each brand is gonna have their own shapes & sizes.

Exactly. Seen all but habitat and they all look like the brand theyre endorsed by. Creatures have a square steep nose, toymachines are flat, zero ones are identical to a standard zero deck.
Being a larger framed guy, I will say the p2 decks are considerably stiffer than a standard one. Tricks like nollie flips seem much easier since the board doesn't flex as much when I initiate the pop and it gets a little higher off the ground than normal.
Also when skating curbs or flat rails when you land on them, the board doesn't flex out and bend around it, it stays stiff and slides through it.Especially lipslides. 3 weeks in on mine and still good.
I understand peoples hesitation and inclination to not give a shit, but they actually are great. A little spendy but in the long run might save you a few bucks.

amen,
i was desperate for a board because i snapped mine, and a homie gave me a fairly new p2 he had been skating, it just felt weird, hard to explain, but felt like my trucks were super tight even though they weren't

I set up a Flip Burnquist P2 and had the same experience. Just didn't feel right, so I set my old board back up.

I had a similar experience with my first p2. It was almost too light for me & it threw me off whenever I did flip tricks for a while. Once you get used to it you're all good

It's being recognized as one of the ten greatest things to have ever happened to skateboarding and yet so many people hate on it? I don't understand at all. I've had two of these boards and have had nothing but outstanding results. It's nice to know that your board isn't going to be flimsy after a few weeks, and the feel is amazing when you get used to it. I've tried the helipop from baker, prolites, and that element shit, and this is the only thing I'm fully backing. Prolites felt like a normal board just tweaked in the SLIGHTEST sense and they're the same price as a normal deck from the folks at Plan B so I didn't complain. I got the helipop my senior year when it just dropped for christmas and it was ehhh. It had a damn good amount of pop but it was very flimsy and chipped like no other

I'd be interested to know what the other 9 things are. The P2 might be rad but there isn't much room after Yary, grab rails, concrete coping, Ben Raemers sister, turning your truck bolts upside down to help with ollies, kerbs, Puig, Barca.

To be accurate, it was a Transworld article called "10 products that changed skateboarding"
(In order)
1. Makaha Pro baord
2. Cadillac urethane wheels
3. Precision bearings
4. Vans waffle sole
5. Indy trucks
6. Santa Cruz seven-ply
7. Etnies natas pro shoe
8. Double kicktail deck
9. DC synthetic skate shoe
10. P2 Deck Technology

How is the Habitat shape compared to a Deluxe one?

im scared of P2 because supposedly thats how jamie tancowny fucked his knee up. the tail of his board was supposed to snap but instead it just hit the ground bounced back and made his leg twist and he tore ligaments in his knee. When a board is supposed to break its supposed to break. no need for technology for a skateboard wood is just fine
