You're either out of your mind or don't know what money is if you think Ishod was getting 250k from Nike.

I wouldn't doubt it, especially if the contract is right (for Nike that is). Think about it - if he turns out to be a Koston or god forbid a Nyjah, what's 250k to them to lock him into a multi year contract with all the good will that comes from hooking him up for years before he was a big name. We're not talking about a small company here, or even a big skate company - it's fucking Nike.

Honestly, if you don't think they're laughing at how cheap and easy our little activity has been to break into your fooling yourself. Even if they sponsor 100 skaters and give them triple figure contracts, it's still cheaper than sponsoring a single soccer, basketball or football player. Plus the media around skateboarding is so much easier to manipulate and their logo is seen on every image of a sponsored skater.

If you stop and think about it, the skate industry makes it almost too easy for a big company to just come in and buy it up without breaking a sweat.

Okay group discussion, does Nike have the most talented skate team ever assembled?
Curerently I would say yes, the have the best of all worlds. A team with Malto, Lance, Olson, Shimizu, etc. is going to be killer no matter what

I'm saying it because I'm acquainted with him, and good friends with Reign dudes. He wasn't getting 250k.

never thought i'd see a flip rider who wasn't on globe or vans.

Arto - Gravis
Willow - etnies
Tom Penny - es/supra
Lance - Nike
Ali - osiris
Rune - cons
Bob B- Can't Remember but not Vans or Globe
Ben Nordberg- Gravis
Matt Berger- Etnies

Not being a dick, just saying.

I would assume for the typical skateboarder itd be around 100-200k although obviously some of the bigger, more marketable guys are gonna get alot more. I doubt dudes like Daniel Smizou or Lewis Marnell are seeing those Alex Olsen checks. P-Rod & Koston gotta be gettin paid in the millions.

Think of the royalties Janoski got.

i don't get it, ya'll cheering luan is getting a big check. i don't care how much fucking money he makes it's not like your going to see more of him. it's not like he's going to get better (then he was going to naturally progress) it just means a bunch of ya'll dumb ass fagots are going to by more fucking nike shoes. i don't care how much money any skate boarder makes, just as long as they get enough to get by even if it means flipping burgers on the side just to cover rent, they didn't become pro skaters because they wanted to get rich quick, they did it because they love skating, or at least that is how it use to be and if we forget it skaing will lose style and street league will take over. fuck nike, jason jesse was right

p.s. if ya'll think they can't aford to buy out every pro skater includeding rick howard and mike carrol and geaoff rolwey and whoever then your tripping, man the janoski contract has got to be worth a mill a year

Considering he rides for Cons now, which is owned by Nike, what he said just became irrelevant.
