to California.  Distributed under La Jolla Group "The Berrics, O'neill, and some motorcycle companies.  Fantasy Factory and Street League will be merged with DNA distribution.  Dyrdek shouldn't of sold out and leave DNA like it is.

Bummer.  This quote stands out...
"Everything from electronics to bath soap is in play, Toby Bost said in an email interview, below."

Does this mean we may see some AWS Dill signature bath soap in the near future?

Corporate catch phrases, make me nauseous.  It just comes off as robot speak, so generic.

"employ best practices... new strategic initiative... leverages one of the strongest attributes... forward-thinking brands and balance our overall license portfolio... creatively align themselves to succeed and win in the branded wholesale space..."

After all, it is all about winning.  So on a scale of anti-hero to DC, just how whored out do you think this will get?

Isn't this exactly what Chris Carter said he wanted to avoid? Moving the company and having to let go all of the employees that have been with him for years?

If you seriously didn't think Dyrdek wasn't going to do this, you're a fool. Dyrdek might have made DNA skater owned but he's going to do some corporate type stuff on his own behalf. And didn't he say in an interview that he was going to leave DNA as is?

La Jolla Group, where Bost serves as CEO, will offer crucial resources, including operations, creative, fulfillment and a new HQ for the DNA brands to grow their collections and following. DNA will operate from LJG?s Irvine, Calif. offices, while DNA founders will remain in Dayton, Ohio.

so the creative and operations guys in ohio are either going to be employed by the LJG or are going to now be subject to their creative control and business practices? thats what i'm reading here.

also, i wonder if ave and dill are bumming because he made these guys the president and vice president. i would be cutting mad onion...mad onion.

I wonder if most of the expansion will be focused on Habitat. Dyrdek has said in more than one interview that Habitat has the direction and potential to be much more than a skate brand. The press release says Habitat stands for "eco-conscious design," which I don't know if they really have aside from having plants and shit in their graphics. I feel like the bath soaps, etc will be marketed under a more "green" Habitat.

But overall, this is disappointing. I thought the split from Burton would be a step in a better direction, but right now it looks bleak.

Fuck, I just setup my alien board and was so stoked on how nice it was. Not only that, I was stoked to be supporting something skater owned, I don't want my money going to fucking bath salts for a wider audience.

I have always been a big fan of Seek, always wanted to see it make a comeback.  Now it has a good chance, so bummed. Only good thing i can think of is maybe he'll reissue some Heath decks, more for my Kirchart collection.

Now when I go to the mall I don't have to support Zumiez, I can purchase my AWS walkie talkie at Radioshack, and my Fred Gall bath salts at Bed Bath & Beyond.
