Rather than moving Alien from Ohio, it seems to me more like Dyrdek is consolidating his business properties under 'DNA Distribution' as the parent corporation, with Street League, Fantasy Factory etc. all becoming subsidiaries and moving the 'headquarters' to LaJolla. It would be a much more straight-forward arrangement for income tax and business administration purposes to house them all under one roof. I doubt there will be significant changes to the existing brands, but it sure sounds like there will be more of Rob's particular flavor of business ventures coming out this.

i think everyone on here is reading this totally the wrong way, and i think the article could have be phrased much better. But with Carter, Hill, and Castrucci staying in Ohio i think it means Workshop, Reflex , and Habitat are staying in Ohio but DNA distro is movie to LA. Which kinda makes sense for a lot of reasons, one being the percentage of Skateboards being sold in Cali is much higher than the percentage being sold anywhere else, why not distribute the boards from a closer place. Also if the boards are still made in the US,(i have no idea) they're probably also made in Southern California, not point in sending them all the way to Ohio just to come back. Theres a hundred other reasons why this makes sense, there really is no advantages of distributing skateboards from the midwest.

I think Rieder is an incredibly good skateboarder--that became clear with his Transworld part--and he undoubtedly deserves to be pro for Alien. I feel as though that Epicly Later'd episode sort of inadvertently stigmatized him as a fashionista (Brent Atchley has been cuffing his pants tightly a few inches above the ankle for several years now, ironically, the skateboarder who more than anyone has been accused of having a contrived style (which I think is bullsh*t)) instead of exhibiting his skateboarding. I don't know if that stigma has sort of made him seem more contrived or if he truly is being such.

Anyway, I think Dill's vision of Alien as a prestigious institution is spot on.
