companies working with Keith Haring Studio is ABD x 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

the main reason this is wierd is because Alien has had the most incredible, original, art direction in skateboarding since its inception. why deviate from that, again, after the Warhol stuff (which I thought was awesome) ?

good point, hardly anyone has ever used Warhol shit before.

Julian Schnabel is not even footnote worthy. He's only an interesting case from a forced market collapse standpoint. He's a better director than painter, that's for sure. He's also as far up his own ass as Koons, so that's pretty fun, if you're into that type of thing.

But I think what lies at the root of our beef is that we're talking about two very disparate elements. The art "world", and the art "market". They are intertwined, but one is an arbitrary bubble, and the other is a world-wide intellectual historical and philosophical discourse.

Koons is relavent in the Market, for sure.

AWS/Damien Hirst dot paintings are next up but there will be an Aids 3D one-off for the core skaters. It will contain an embedded USB stick that has info about the impending fresh water crisis and how to supplement your art career by selling cocaine to gallery owners on it.

or you know, brought Pendelton back.
Yes. I love all of Alien's current graphics, but the Pendelton years were golden.

Winner.

Also, a Steven Shearer ball-point suicide drawing deck would be great.

You took my Schnabel bait.  Anyway, the art market is no more arbitrary than the "intellectual historical and philosophical" art world. (Excuse me while I vomit.)

Supreme always has the dopest artist collaborations. Richard Prince, Nate Lowman, Dan Colen, Jeff Koons people that are current. Not this gay shit.  My mom has a lunch bag with Keith Haring art on it.

isnt that lovely?

When I was at camp, my favorite activity was arts and crafts. Or as we used to call it, arts and farts and crafts. We used to make drawings: cave drawings...which is my way of saying that we were cavemen. I went to camp so long ago that I can remember saying sticks and stones may break my bones and meaning it. I went to camp so long ago that fucking Jesus Christ was my counselor and my best friend had polyeboslia. His name was Ug...and he walked on all fours. There were two epidemics when I went to camp: head lice and the Plague, the Bubonic Plague.

^^^^yea, your avi is fucking awesome.

Art arguments/debates are pointless. One person might like to look at something that another person wouldn't care for - others like to go beyond that an know the story behind the work. That's it.

With that said:
Suck my dick and tell me someone who is amazing.

I will fuck your father with "what's good".

I think you're right though. I don't really "get" the work.

Between this and the beach towels for Target, I'm at a loss. My simple mind craves terse visual impact. I require a type of Friedian "presentness" that Masters like Koons balk at. It's just not for me.

Looks like this Koons dude could do some shit for the new Habitat line. Although, his name isn't going to get them in some sort of Baker gook shit is it?

Koon's shit is lame/guess I'm old/stupid.

Haring was relevant to the society in which he existed moreso than the art world. And not really within the last 25 years as the dude died in 1990.

Let the man rest.  No one needs to do another Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, or Basquiat colab anymore.

An insider friend who doesn't exist told me this deck is coming next season.

Does this mean every company who doesn't feature work by an AIDS activist is actually pro-AIDS? I didn't read everybody's long winded conspiracy theories so I don't know if that's been covered yet.

I wasn't sure of it before today, but after this comment...well, now I'm sure of it: you're a goddamn genius.
