It's been awhile since I've bought some vans, but I just got two pairs of eras, and both of the midsoles have a slightly thinner midsole with a cheaper feeling rubber ( the actual midsole, not the waffle grip on the bottom.) Looking at pictures, it looks like other eras / old skools / etc seem to have the same problem. Is this just one of the vans factories doing this, or the new thing all around? I know that vans used to have two different factories a few years back, each producing shoes with some slight differences.

I knew I should have specified that, but no, I did not. The "low pro" era, has to be one of the most vile things I've ever seen. I'd probably think differently if it was only sold as a women's shoe, but that isn't the case

I still have a pair of early 90s Eras that are a whole different ballgame to the ones today.  So much more comfortable, better sole, real shit

I know made in USA vans were the best, but I'm not even talking about those. I feel like there's been another big quality drop over the past couple of years.

I just skated a pair of Old Skools and the sole didn't bother me one bit! No bald spots either, which surprised me so much.

I think you got the specialty vans like there's ones that have no waffle grip on the bottom it just has the flat bottom like jack purcells
