rather this than dylan with a monster sticker on his deck.
very good point.

nah everyone backs sheckler and hes decked out in red bull garb all the time.. i cant back a dude that says skateboarding is a job just like flippin burgers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szSOdCF9Uuk
.. o yea dude? u ben flippin burgers lately? who bought u boards growin up so u could focus on skating?.. great skater, great style, goofy outfits and imitators, ungrateful demeanor, prob gets alotta grade A ass and is livin our dream.. i just cant back the early english settler get up and the goofs that imitate his ankle pants
That's not what he meant at all... he was talking about how no one just flips burgers or does any job or fun unlike skateboarding.
im sure the gonz or louie barletta compare skating to flippin burgers
.. and is that how u view skating as a job u gotta work at?.. i think this is just an attitude that has been acquired in recent times that ppl who get halfway good at skating treat it like a job and it gets fuckin boring.. i 'borrowed' friends boards growing up and worked hard for boards and know the difference between working for an asshole that can fucking care less about u and riding my 4 wheel dream enjoying life

If it helps to assuage the homophobia that's been rampant in skateboarding for so long than I'm all for it.
o yea a circle jerk on guys faces will really get acceptance from the strait community and isnt uncomfortable at all..
Is that sarcasm? It's really hard to understand what you're trying to say...
im not bashing dylan specifically, nor skating as a whole.. just this current attitude of ppl being bummed on ppl skating and not taking it as serious as they are because to the rest of the world and myself skateboarding is a joke and all the hammers at the end of the day r meaningless and insignificant to the rest of the world. i really like dylans skating and dont trip too hard on His very specific and unique way of dressing, i mean ali boulala wore some pretty retarded shit but dylan seems more serious and consistent about his gear.. wen i see a clone wit the pants rolled up i mutter pussy under my breath and move on. vogue magazine is rad, gettin paid to model is rad.. dylan has done some of the best shit ever done on a board.. the impossible over the nyc bench by the water is inconceivable. my angle on this is just as skewed as anyone elses being that i am not dylan, i dont kno wat its like to b him or wat his day to day is like. wat is weird to me is this adopted exploiting of good looking skaters and
aggressive homo sexual commentary
that follows. i cant see mid to late 90's stevie williams stealing some kids board and selling it back to them for 20$ approving of this. skating grew serious and uncomfortable pretty fast.

kyle james skating the banks in tims is a thing of the past and dylan in vogue is not surprising hes a great looking guy
So, you're either a homophobe, or uncomfortable with your own sexuality. That's what I'm getting from you.
If you're comparing the adoption and advocacy of "good looking skateboarders" or just skaters who dress well, or even just dress differently to the adoption of the gangster mentality of a lot of 90's skateboarding they are really one in the same. And if you haven't noticed, even Stevie Williams dabbles in fashion now, though it's different than Dylan, it's still fashion.
ha im not a homophobe, nor am i uncomfortable with my sexuality and the plain and simple fact is that discussing the appearance of skaters and how good looking they are is gay, brink talking about team handsome in jaws buzz was uncomfortable and if ur gay thats cool, i shared an apartment with a gay dude for a while, gays have more fun man, its not about that.. in psychology u learn that good looking people get more breaks in life and ppl will most likely support them and they will succeed exceptions for fat or ugly ppl is that they have an excellent mind or are very funny. ur closet analysis of wat im saying is twisted and unbalanced. stevie williams is into fashion now and has accepted lil wayne on supra although just a couple yrs ago twuan and tk beat up a guy on a plane for racial slurs and liking lil wayne. im not here to offend or hurt feelings.. i just want truth. so wat if i relate skateboarding with gangster culture and cant relate it with fashion and circle jerks on good looking guys, i dont feel it belongs in skateboarding and i am not alone.

dumbest shit ever.

Man, I wish I was as core and "street" as you homeys.
Or I could just get brain damage.
It is almost laughable at how offended you guys get over dylan doing something that he has expressed interest in and never denied being involved in. Fashion.
Raptor Killah, you are a fucking idiot. "Street"? I never used that word, or "core," so shut your stupid fucking mouth. For the record I mainly skate tranny at this point, so I could care less about how "street" I am. Yeah, I must have brain damage because I am repulsed by seeing a large percentage of skateboarders turn into pussy-ass, fashionista chumps. This shit does not belong in skateboarding culture, it ain't a fucking catwalk. And yeah, this was in vogue, not a skate mag, but I don't give a fuck. It is still lame. And don't tell me about how much pussy he gets, because I could care less. Lots of fucking douche bags get lots of pussy, does that mean that they are cool and should get a free pass for being fucking douche bags?
Sleepy pancakes: There is a big difference between thinking something is lame, and being offended. But I guess I'm just jealous because he gets more 'tang than me, right? Or maybe I want to fuck him? Yeah, that must be it.
And whoever was trying to say that he is doing some of the greatest skating ever because he is good at impossibles, and can impossible some big shit, you are also an idiot. Plenty of fucking crazy shit has gone down on picnic tables, for a long time. Sheffey was straight fakie ollieing that shit off flat in fucking 1990. A full sized one at that. Go try that, you pussy. As I said, Dylan is fucking good, but one of the best ever? Don't make me choke on my beer you moron.
You completely changed my mind. It would be sick to see skateboarders become like nitro circus and metal mulisha dudes rather than inner city queers like Dill, AVE, Arto, Heath and Dylan. And I get it, being a Hesh as fuck tranny dude who drinks heaps of beer, I can understand why you wouldn't be into Dyaln but that does not make him "a literal dick rider". Also, just because someone is into fashion does not make them "pussy ass" (at this point I'm almost certain you are from the midwest). Have you seen Dylan skate tranny? His frontside airs are fucking huge, far from pussy. Also, kind of weird how obsessed you are with the amount of "tang" the guy gets. I think you brought that one up.

ha im not a homophobe, nor am i uncomfortable with my sexuality and the plain and simple fact is that discussing the appearance of skaters and how good looking they are is gay, brink talking about team handsome in jaws buzz was uncomfortable and if ur gay thats cool, i shared an apartment with a gay dude for a while, gays have more fun man, its not about that.. in psychology u learn that good looking people get more breaks in life and ppl will most likely support them and they will succeed exceptions for fat or ugly ppl is that they have an excellent mind or are very funny. ur closet analysis of wat im saying is twisted and unbalanced. stevie williams is into fashion now and has accepted lil wayne on supra although just a couple yrs ago twuan and tk beat up a guy on a plane for racial slurs and liking lil wayne. im not here to offend or hurt feelings.. i just want truth. so wat if i relate skateboarding with gangster culture and cant relate it with fashion and circle jerks on good looking guys, i dont feel it belongs in skateboarding and i am not alone.
So admitting that another man is a good looking human being makes you uncomfortable? Maybe I'm biased because I'm a "literal dick rider" but the truth seems to be to me that because Dylan is into fashion and that industry as well, a switch was flipped in you that said "Gay, this has to be gay and I have to make it known that it isn't ok". The fact that your roommate once upon a time ago was gay does not make it ok to say that anything relating to the LGBT community is not allowed in skateboarding. Also, there are some straight dudes that contribute tons to fashion, just because it's fashion doesn't make it something involving the LGBT community. Yet you made it an insult to call it gay, the same way that people use fag as an insult. And TK and Antwaun beat the shit out of that dude for using racial slurs, liking lil wayne took a back seat I'm positive of that. If you can't relate to Dylan that's one thing, but what has become a running joke (team handsome) and turning it into what is essentially a gay bashing argument full of your own insecurities and biases against the gay community that makes people, kids especially, feel that they are unacceptable in any society or subculture. Skateboarding included. To say that anything involving fashion, or homosexuality doesn't belong in skateboarding defeats the purpose and common bond of skateboarding.

Are you really as stupid as you sound? The last line leads me to believe you're a moody 12-year old who hasn't yet learned to control his temper, by I do realize that many full grown people have the intelligence of 12-year olds.

you're delusional Mole. its pretty damn simple... skateboarders have other interests... music, art, fashion... etc. Rieder probably made an effort to get his foot in the door and the rest is history. As someone mentioned... what is wrong with one making some more income through Vogue Magazine as opposed to Monster Energy Drink?
the dude has been in skateboarding FOREVER in the context of mid-20 year old skateboarders... and personally, until that Epicly Later'd was released, I never thought of him as synonymous with 'model' or 'fashionista'... he was just an really good skateboarder... do we hate on Guerrero or J. Lee for putting themselves out there in other mediums?
your testosteronic-homo-phobic attitude is some antiquated non-sense and most likely an expression of your own insecurity.
i am happy for any kind of coverage that
might
make people outside of skateboarding begin to realize that it isn't some juvenile waste of time.
Energy drinks are wack, I agree, but all that those dudes who are endorsed by those company have to do is wear a hat or whatever when they skate some comp, and get paid a shitload for it. I really don't see that much of a problem there. It's not really comparable to someone modelling for a fashion magazine. Fashion fucking sucks, straight up. Those dudes who ride for monster don't do it because they think the logo looks awesome.
I don't care how long Rieder has been around for. It hasn't been that long anyway, maybe 8 or 9 years. That's totally irrelevant. Rob Dyrdek endorses monster, which you seem to hate on, and he has been around for what, 22 years?
Why would i hate on Guererro or Lee? Jason is a quality actor, Tommy is a very talented musician who makes some sick music. Everyone likes music. How the fuck are you gonna compare music to fashion? Music is (ideally, and in Tommy's case) pure, fashion is fucking hollow shite. I never said i have anything against skaters being into other things, you idiot. Every fucking skater is. You're assuming that because I don't like skaters being in the fashion scene that I don't like them being into anything other than skateboarding.
And sorry dude, but I never mentioned anything homophobic. Find me a quote. Not liking fashion does not make one a homophobe. I just have a low tolerance for bullshit.

Okay, here's another moron assuming things that I never actually wrote. When did I say that metal mullisha or nitro circus is cool, you fucktard? I'm not an x-treme moto meathead. Lemme get this straight: if i don't like gimpy fashionistas, I must like metal mullisha and nitro circus? It's just one or the other is it? You have no idea what I'm into. So because I like skating tranny I must be hesh? Way to pigeonhole me, dude. And what is this "literal dick rider" nonsense? When did i use those words? I never said Dylan was a pussy on a skateboard. He has a lot more balls than I do, that's for sure. It's the fashion side that is pussy. In my opinion, being into fashion is some pussy shit. Deal with it.
Finally, when I mentioned the amount of 'tang he gets, I was referring to all the people in this thread who are defending him because he gets lots of pussy. "Oh Dylan is ruling at life, he gets to fuck models, you haters are just jealous..." - all that fucking nonsense. I was not the first to bring that up, I was responding to it.
Oh, and I'm not from the Midwest. Guess again.

Fashion fucking sucks, straight up.
So basically this comes down to "I don't like something, therefore no one is allowed to like it". You're a fucking loser, you know that right? If you are over the age of 13 you seriously need to go reevaluate your life dude.

I just want to reach out to you and say thank you, Mole. That picture of Dylan almost made me forget about skateboarding and pussy but after I read the many words you've offered us, I watched some porn (3 chicks, 1 dude) and then skated a quarter pipe for a couple hours. If you are interested, I was wearing a black tee with blue pants. My hat matched my shoes, but I didn't plan it that way so don't get any ideas you gay boys.

I'm good at skateboarding, so some asshole is going to give me a pile of money to wear this stupid hat while I'm skateboarding.
I'm good at being man pretty, so some asshole is going to give me a pile of money to take some pics of me while I'm being man pretty.
I'm not seeing much difference here. It's like someone paying you (Mole) to be stupid, but they're not.

I heard BA is also modelling. If they feel comfortable doing that, I don't mind..
but it's definetly not something that I would like to become. I couldn't take myself seriously.
On a skateboard, at least you know you get paid for creativity/ skills/ balls etc.

He most likely wasn't paid anything at all for this shoot--and if he was paid, it wasn't much. It was, in the immortal words of Gang Starr, "Just to Get A Rep."
I think skating needs more fashionable men and fewer redneck dudes but that's just me.

Every single one of your favorite pros has done modeling. You know those Matix ads of torey pudwill with his fly swatting arms at rest, not skating, but showing off some over-priced jeans. yeah thats modeling.

Ok but it's still a difference if you do that in the skateboard-bubble or outside of it. But I agree modelling seems to be a part of being a pro skater. It's only not what I like skateboarding for, nothing against aesthetics and representation inside of skateboarding though...
I guess we have to Dyl with fashion and hipsterizm being a part of skating, as long as it doesn't become the main subject.

This thread has gone full retard. Magazines pay their writers and photographers, but not the subjects of their editorial pieces. Male models don't make shit. That's why those fools are standing in front of hollister in their underwear. Dylan. is from LA. Nuff said in regards to his 'style'. It's no different then our rocking baggy pants in the 90's.

Y'all really don't get why fashion is stupid? This generation fucking sucks.
Its all a fucking scam. Clothes can last years, so they created a whole fucking stupid industry to make you feel self conscious enough to buy a new wardrobe every 3 months to keep the money coming in. The whole "on-time production"/contract system to undercut the rights of the workers who make the shit. Whenever I see somebody who "keeps up on the latest fashion" I see a fucking idiot.

That's called a contractual obligation, not a second career. But if I'm not confused, some guys like Peter Bici and Tony Cox have over the years. But this vogue thing isn't about being a model, its about how awesome it is that he has such cool clothing!

I think both are worthless and neither is the opposite of the other. Both are superficial and give an attitude to people who aren't like them.
