Following the newest fashion bullshit, ie Dylan Reider, is making everyone look the same. Or something.

I'm drunk.

fuck this! who cares man? if he wants to mill around in cuffed pants, let him.. its no different to morgan smith with tshirts down to his knees or duffel going from punk to mod to biker.. ali boulala always dressed like a kook and lord knows there are loads more skaters that have unique styles.. why give dylan so much grief cos his style happends to get picked up on by fashion mags ..

does it really make the slightest bit of difference to any of us?

Y'all really don't get why fashion is stupid? This generation fucking sucks.

Its all a fucking scam. Clothes can last years, so they created a whole fucking stupid industry to make you feel self conscious enough to buy a new wardrobe every 3 months to keep the money coming in. The whole "on-time production"/contract system to undercut the rights of the workers who make the shit. Whenever I see somebody who "keeps up on the latest fashion" I see a fucking idiot.

Every single one of your favorite pros has done modeling. You know those Matix ads of torey pudwill with his fly swatting arms at rest, not skating, but showing off some over-priced jeans. yeah thats modeling.
That's called a contractual obligation, not a second career. But if I'm not confused, some guys like Peter Bici and Tony Cox have over the years. But this vogue thing isn't about being a model, its about how awesome it is that he has such cool clothing!

I think skating needs more fashionable men and fewer redneck dudes but that's just me.
I think both are worthless and neither is the opposite of the other. Both are superficial and give an attitude to people who aren't like them.

I think some people miss whats so good about dylan. Its not the clothes and often times its not even the tricks even though most of his shit looks amazing. its spot selection. The number one complaint people have about LA is that all the spots are gone or used up. Even guy mariano and alex olson said it, rieder basically skated all these really good spots everyone lives right next to but dont skate for some reason. He basically turned a bunch of regular spots into hot spots and gets really good looking tricks on them. He has a good eye for what to skate. Its fun to waste time talking about how he rolls up his jeans and makes skateable dress shoes but thats always been besides the point. At least for me.
