I agree that Man Utd is killing everyone in it's path. I'm still hopeful that they'll lose some steam and Chelsea will be able to overtake them in the Premier.

fuck that, i support the team that is going to hand barca their separatist asses on tuesday
i like liverpool but i'm a true barça fan first.... and i do believe the reds have a chance with their spanish armada and all and with benitez in charge against barça, but i hope not... should be a great 2 legged tie
and to quote my english friend i met in germany "chelsea are a bunch of fuckin wankers"... i hope they win nothing this year

while i am no fan of chelsea, i do not mind them winning, for it is the lesser of two evils in de-legitimizing man united, who i am particularly surprised are performing so well after losing ruud. the ruud/rooney partnership was formidable, but i guess chelski losing gallas was a bigger blow than originally thought. p.s. i thought liverpool might be able to pull off a miracle and get the league title before the disasters against everton and newcastle. i'm a bit more grounded in reality now.

I still can't believe that Beckham is coming to MLS. Bad fucking move on the MLS's part. David Beckham alone is not going to change america's persona of futbol. The majority of American's don't like futbol, they think its for pussies. I need to get the fox soccer channel so I can finally watch something besides the occasional match.

i agree with you about most americans won't care about football any more with beckham here and will probably will think that fooball is for "pussies" who for anyone who has seen top quality soccer or played even pick up games knows it isn't....
many people feel that football is boring cause "nothing" ever happens (which isn't true) or only one goal gets scored etc... but i mean baseball isn't much better, and american football wouldn't really be such high scoring games if touchdowns didn't count for 6 points, and aside from the occassional big play it's a really a tedious game (in my opinion) where there's like 2-5 seconds of action before the game is stopped... and damn, fuck those 4-5 hour games...
i get more excited about college football because there's more passion among the fans and history of the rivalries, it's really close to soccer in that aspect
whatever....come back already champions league!

and americans fear anything that competes with baseball, one of the few things that are uniquely american in the sports world. read all about it in "how soccer explains the world: an unlikely theory of globalization". it's a very good read and not esoteric at all.
p.s. inter milan are legit communists

Money's on Man U but I reckon there's going to be a surprise a finalist, Liverpool comes to mind along with Werder Bremen, Celtic, Porto.

Anyway, the winter break here is over, the championship continues today. Time to relax in front of the telly with a couple of beers.

sorry, the oligarchs that run inter milan are commies, soviet style where they preach but the disparity between that and their practice is noticeable. fuck calcio anyway

i thought that was right. i don't want to come across as one of cunts who make stupid comments on here, but i thought on the political spectrum, communism was on the extreme right while fascism was to the extreme left. if i am wrong, then i learned something.

Very, very wrong. Although at this point it's a fairly arbitrary distinction aside from the somewhat obscure cultural reference.

Without going into too much detail, communism is the liberal one. Everybody shares everything and power is shared between everyone. Real world communist countries don't really live up to this, but it's the theory we're talking about. Fascism is where the government controls everything, and is on the right.

appreciate it. i should probably should have figured that out by deductive reasoning, but i guess its one of those things you don't realize until someone outright tells you, kinda like how horses are not indigenous to America. anyways, back to soccer...

agreed. keep saviola, and get rid of Etoo asap.
and i hope cristiano stays in man utd, if he does leave, i hope he goes to realmadrid and ruins his career.
and my team won yesterday, but are only out of relegation zone by goal difference, and next week they're playing against barcelona...

Keep Eto'o sell Gudjenson to Newcastle in order to replace Michael Owen.

think of the 'political spectrum' as horseshoe shaped. fascism is on the extreme right, communism on the extreme left. yet they are kind of close to each other...
