I saw this on Slam City's Facebook page this morning, I figured that some of you would be stoked:

Quote
Skateboarders and football might not seem like a natural fit, but sometimes, initial appearances can be deceptive. That's certainly the case with London's Palace, one of the smartest, most stylish skating brands in the world, who Umbro have collaborated with on a new limited edition collection. The Palace skate team are all massive football fans, and were particularly keen to get involved with Umbro and some of the items in our archive.

"Loads of skateboarders I know are crazy for football" says Palace main man Lev Tanju; "It's the same set of skills that you need I guess: balance, coordination, kicking stuff about with your feet". Featuring Umbro X Palace shirts, trill tops and a jacket, the collection is set to go on sale at the start of next month. The full range features in the new edition of i-D magazine, which is out now, and we'll also have plenty more details here about where you can get your hands on these very limited designs.

I love skating as well as football. This crossover, not so much. Don't know why, it just rubs me the wrong way...

I've actually skated Umbro indoor soccer shoes before.  Not bad in a pinch.

For real, soccer jerseys are great to skate in in the summer.

This. And I feel like when, not if, I get that blue jersey, people will be asking me where the club "Palace" is from.

But it's not a "Nike thing."  That's like saying Lexus and Toyota are the same.  Owned by the same company but they're still different.

Looks like another one of those goofy articles of clothing that only looks good on good looking folk

cannot cop  Embarrassed

I sometimes wear my old club soccer jersey if it's a hot day, but I wouldn't wear that shit outside because I would feel weird walking around with my last name on my back haha

thats not a good comparison to make if you're trying to argue umbro isn't a nike thing

I agree it's weak, but I can't think of a good analogy.
