Nike puttin pressure on the game. i think core shoe companies will always be relevant but they gotta make sure they stay on point if they want to last.

this. at least they didnt have the grey standard-excel background.

i used to think that koston is one of THE funniest guys in skateboarding. but nowadays he just seems like a cocky bitch. on the other hand, if you are one of the most blessed skateboarders ever, i guess thats just what happens to you.

I was mostly being sarcastic, though.

I just thought this was the whackest, corniest shit, and I got second-hand embarrassment. Yea, all those dudes are getting paid well, but when you step back, the whole thing just feels almost surreal. Any shoe commercial that doesn't actually show any aspect of the shoe, and just arbitrarily describes the qualities of the shoe, is whack.

and

It's fucking Nike. Nike, guys.

Nike is in skateboarding. Did you know this?

Nike.

this nike

and this nike

and don't forget, this nike

I could understand them being a part of this

but now they're a legit part of this???

man....shit

Fuck .. .. .. that was both depressing and embarressing, 3 skaters who I hold (or held) in reasonably high regard participating in some cheesey bullshit.

I mean I'm sure their contracts stipulate they have to take part in this shit in order to receive 8 pairs of janoskis (or whatever) a week, but come on Is there no one in NikeSBs marketing or advertising department with any sense of what is good and what is incredibly tacky?

What did I just watch?

Its interesting to see how the non core shoe companies takes different routes. Adidas sends their riders around the world and makes insane webclips. Nike does this to promote stuff, wierd

Koston blew it, destroying his legacy should be impossible but he took care of it. Brock is dumb, boring and I dont like him. Malto, Malto, Malto, you dont matter.

Is it just me or is the soundtrack a remix of music in hot chocolate . . ?
I'm a huge fan of Brock but he looks kinda strange in baby blue shoes or whatever. haha. This commercial could have been worse IMO . . at least there was some proper tricks. Gotta remember their marketing to little kids at the end of the day, not the old dudes on slap

I don't even like Nike, but the commercial wasn't even that bad. It was supposed to be corny, and the tricks were sick.

The entirety of that video and everything it encompassed really bummed me out. I hope all you Janoski buying fuckers are happy with what "our" lifestyle/sport has turned into.

I felt really dirty after watching that video. But dirty in a way that a group of jackasses pushed me into mud puddle while they were flopping around in it happily themselves. That video just kind of stunk of everything that's wrong with "skateboarding today" as opposed to skateboarding "back in the day," i.e. before all of these large sponsors were just accepted. Either people just got tired of fighting it, or it's a new mentality amongst the skate masses that don't seem to care what brand is plastered all over their gear. I'm being forced down this ride of lameness when I want no part of it, but my only other option is to quit. If that happens, they've all won.
