Brick Harbor, a progressive online skate shop created by skateboarders for skateboarders, launched its retail and lifestyle related website today at BrickHarbor.com. Under the wing of Boston-based, online fashion retail giant Karmaloop.com, Brick Harbor will showcase hard goods, footwear and apparel from exclusive, hard to find, international and emerging brands. Their vision, interactive approach, knowledgeable staff and exclusive brand selection differentiate them from the competition.
While our goal is to appeal to customers that actually skate, our expert staff strives to provide the best customer service to aspiring skateboarders as well, creating a unique user experience that will leave customers impressed and eager to return, says Chase Whitaker, Brick Harbors Director of Operations.
Whitaker also states that Brick Harbor will be the destination for skateboarding worldwide, We will populate our site with everything thats important and relevant in skateboarding. At the same time, the site will be fully interactive, allowing customers to rate and review products, and make recommendations about brands theyd like to see us carry or content that we should spotlight.
Brick Harbor hopes to cultivate a productive and rich relationship with its customers by both hearing from and responding to their feedback and suggestions, and by serving as their trusted source of information about emerging companies and riders.
Brick Harbor is more than an online retailer; its a lifestyle destination. Whitaker and team manager Nino Scalia have gathered some of the most popular and well-respected names in skateboarding for Brick Harbors pro team, including young veterans like PJ Ladd, Terry Kennedy and Jack Curtin, and legends Stevie Williams and Gino Iannucci. Riders will contribute original, exclusive content to the sites News section, which will feature videos and original content, along with product reviews, contests and giveaways.

believe it, I know a lot of the guys involved and they're out for blood! Paying riders, paying a full time filmer, a staff that has actual skaters and an owner that thinks skating is cool but isnt dumb enough to pretend he knows whats up (but more than smart enough to get the right people)
CCS and Active better smarten up, I hear ccs has been bleeding employees and is now filled with people who don't skate as the buyers.

Yeah, i asked that in the shoe thread. I guess it is gone!
I don;t know how his shop got a nike collab so quick. Takes a while for a shop to build up reputation to consider getting a color way.
I guess he's gino, so he gets an exemption

the "support your local shop" thing sometimes only works out superficially. i have two local legitimate skate shops (not counting actives, zumiez, etc.) but just because of the fact that their independently owned and basically skater-run doesn't mean i support their vision. one is some super quasi-hood, supreme in '96, dgk-ish asshole vibe, and the other goes the ultra extreme opposite on some habitat bullshit. some real brian jonestown massacre dorks with dylan. pants. i don't mind buying some jessup or vans from either one, but if they don't have what i want i ain't going out of my way to support them either.

This is awesome. karmaloop has awesome service and good shipping prices for international customers, so this will probably be good as well. Ill be a customer for sure.
I'd rather support these guys than the 'local shops' in this country anyway. There are about 3 shops in this whole country that I want to give my money to and they barely ever have what im looking for, fuck that. The rest are worse than ccs.

I totally agree. My local 'skateboard' shop is a streetwear store that carried decks because they were 'street' but now focuses on scooters over skateboards, because that is where the money is at. The staff are a bunch of moronic zombies and I tend to only buy decks from there if I need one on the day. Because of this I order most of my skate shit online, from skater owned UK stores like SS20, Native, Slam City etc. Not saying im necessarily backing this 100%, but it's not always as black as white as supporting your local shop.

My local shop is a bike shop that sells limited skate products. I rather support CCS than them because when the actual local skateshops ran out of business they started to get more skate stuff in.
