He certainly did lose some weight, good for him.

I would love to skate that ramp, I also want a cigarette.

yeah those pipe grabs were rad, but it looked like he was hanging on their whole sprinkler system for fires and stuff.  I kept thinking 'he really shouldn't be hanging on that.'

i'm pretty square i guess.

I've always been a huge Dehobl fan. the northeast produces some of the hardiest skateboarders alive.

cigarettes > beer (even though I completely disagree with that statement Wink )

edit:

alright. I admit I had to light up a blue pack spirt when he bought that carton. those things are expensive! $7.59 a pack here in NH..

anyways, I have a strong feeling this might turn into an unofficial Dan Drehobl Appreciation thread.

sooo basically yeah lets do the damn thing

Glad he's changed up his diet and is checking his blood sugar and shit but diabetics are high risk for heart attacks.  Those smokes are going to do him in.

I bet his doctor stays on his ass about that.

Well that was NOT what I was expecting!

Seeing a perfectly sober (not hungover) Drehobl in the beginning really threw me off.

I guess being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetics really HAS changed his life.

No more heavy drinking cause it'll make his liver to work extra hard and he needs it to process blood sugar.

That's especially true during exercise. 6 beers into a sesh and he'd could be in big trouble!

I reckon this also explains his weight loss. Well anyways...

Dan looked great in that video. He looked 10 years younger

he rules. and it's good to see he's ripping in spite of the diabetes.

i'm probably gonna get shit for posing this question, but here goes- pro skaters have the life, as easily seen in this clip: get up whenever, listen to music and doodle, then skate w/ friends. all the while getting paid. who would trade their 9-5 for diabetes to live this life?

It certainly is strange to be diagnosed Type I Diabetes as an adult. I was diagnosed when I was 9 years old and from early on I was pretty much trained to take care of my health to avoid speeding-up old age complications. It's not that difficult to control and I guess that the doctors had tell Dan to control his eating habits and lifestyle first and to leave the smoking thing to deal afterwards.

I believe that Lewis Marnell is also diabetic - and that there are other insulin dependent pals here.

Either way, You look great Dan! Take care.

Wow, always rad to find other type 1 heads that skate.  One more reason to be stoked on Cancer Dan, but those smokes and diabetes are going to murder him soon.  That shit still made my day.
