I don't think so. With all the "Chill" shoes they make (wino and stuff), it seems like their vulcs are serving them the best. Probably not skaters who buy them, but considering they have to compete with the likes of Vans, Adidas, and Nike, it makes sense they have to do that.

yea but they still need to cater to more types of skaters. compare it a car company only making 2-door vehicles without any trucks or SUV's. there are plenty of people who like the brand itself but arent buying the actual shoes just because they dont make any models that appeal to them & their style of skating.

Yea I absolutely agree. It pisses me off that when I hit the Emerica section on a webstore, half the shoes are plimsoles. I don't know what their situation is but it's probably not good, what with eS going so they're probably just trying to stay afloat. They may not have the budget right now to cater to all types of skaters.

I'm not saying that johnny appleseed has absolutely no word in the matter, but if the company decides that his idea isn't going to work what is he going to do about it?

Sadly its a business, not a place for creative experimentation.

Many skaters realize this and choose to release bland copycat shoes that will sell instead of asking for something that might not succeed.

+A lot of skaters are of below average intelligence and to trust them with major business decisions would be completely unwarranted.

I leaned today that Johnny Appleseed planted apple trees primarily for land rights, and hard cider.

He may have been drunk but he'd still skate these over vulcs

My buddy had a pair of those and they tore quicker than AirSpeeds. Likely a defective pair, but I'm going to clown them regardless.

Honestly, those must have been defective. I've never skated AirSpeeds (thank god) but my G-Codes were tough as fuck. The sole went bald way before I ever got a hole in the upper since they're Emericas, but I back the fuck out of those shoes. One of my favorite cupsoles, I'd buy a few more pairs if they just fixed the tread depth so that they didnt flatten out so damn fast.

man these were so sick. i had 2 pairs in that color, some black and purple ones and the sweetest color way was black/grey and green..i really wish i could skate them again.. ive seen em online in really big or small sizes.


Yup, the black grey green with the perforated leather and sued to cape, i had 2 pairs of those joints. couldnt find a picture of em so i had to use the black gold

the last time i bought a pair of emerica's was when the reynolds 3's were just coming out. i had probably around 4 or 5 pairs of those, and they were rad. from there i went into a half cab/authentic phase which i haven't really gotten out of to this day. experimenting with some converse and gravis at the moment, pappalardo's were rad and the quarters lx are doing pretty well too.

i find that emerica doesn't really appeal to the older crowd personally. unless they're a good deal, i never really see too many people around skating them or buying them.
