Could we have a thread discussing vegan shoes + exchange tips?

Which shoes we have tried, what worked and what didnt?

Currently thinking about Adidas adi-ease or Converse cts waxed canvas.
Also curious about the Gravis filters but they look a bit thin.

Habitat also seem to have quite a few models, but there wasnt that much info on their site about materials.

Also which type of leathers are synthetic?

They look comfy!

i?ve skated a lot of fallens throughout the years, and never had too much trouble with the sole. i usually switch the insole of the forte, but with other promodels its fine.

not the best looking shoe ever but the Emerica "Barrier Kult" shoes are vegan. 

i had a pair, SUPER comfortable and durable.  lasted a long time... the bottom soles wore out before the ollie area.

I know one of the new Habitat Cupsoles is synthetic nubuck, I saw it in their most recent catalog. Maybe it was the Lark Cupsole? I know it was gray haha. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

needs to be more vegan pros out there ala ed templeton and (old skool rowley). the vegan shoe market sucks these days, sure there are lots of canvas shoes out there but that's not really what most of us want... i do have some 14oz half cabs at the moment but would prefer if they were made out of synthetic. one of the original silas colourways (blue/ black/ grey) was synthetic but adidas mostly stick to suede. fallen does offer some models in vegan but i have never ridden them ... 5 or so years ago it used to be so easy to get synthetic shoes *sighs* hell even i-path are lagging this days 
obviously the vegan skate shoe blog is good as http://vegankicks.com/ cuz they often put up skate shoes.

hoepfully getting the manderson soon, i'm not really vegan, but since i found out suede was cow ( i thought it was just fabric before) i've tried to not wear anything from animals, i get killing them for food, because that actually has nutrition, but it seems stupid to just kill them for "fashon"

No. I paged through all of them, none of them are anything other than canvas. Good for chilling, not so much for skating.

I remember there being way more synthetic shoes in the past. I don't think I've seen a synthetic version of a shoe in my local shops in years. Seems canvas is the only option a lot of the time.

One thing I've done on a few occasions with canvas shoes is Shoe Goo rubber or suede patches cut from old shoes on the ollie area. I did this with a pair of "non-skate" shoes that had a rubber toe cap and they ended up lasting a long-ass time. It was a black patch on all-white shoes and I thought they actually looked really good.

 

I superglue the ollie/kickflip areas (not just the seems), strengthens the canvas and holds up for a long time if you do it now and then.

replace "super glue" with "my butt" and "blood" with "semen" and I think you're right

that one made me giggle like a schoolgirl.
