It has nothing to do with what is right, and everything to do with money.  There just isn't enough of it in board sales to give everyone who rips and could be pro a pro-level paycheck and still keep the lights on.

man ams are a thing of the past. i look at dudes in their late 30s early 40s and say " shit, i need to be ripping that hard when im there."

Will  Harmon said it best " what am i suppose to do, turn 30 and quit skateboarding?"

my dads almost 65 years old and rides his bike 50 to 100 miles every weekend. everyday of my life i see guys in downtown boston half his age with Budweiser bellys busting their belt buckles. stay healthy, keep it moving, never stop, skate forever. fuck age, its just a number.

I love his style but Jesus I don't see Kelly Hart getting past am. I also see Scott Decenzo, Clark Hassler, Dave Abair(he just needs to get past this flow crap and I see it working out for him). Also someone needs to pimp slap Bill Weiss for keeping Morgan Smith am, even if he doesn't want to be pro, fuck it and put his name on a deck for christs sake just so it can restore the balance of nature.

Keegan Sauder I think is on the same sort of deal that Elissa was and Gilley is. Do something (film, shoot an ad, whatever) and you get a board for that season, get the royalties, etc etc. They don't get the steady boards like Chris Cole and Tommy Sandoval and those other dudes that are always out there.

i'm stoked for jose that he finally turned pro. i'd buy his board but enjoi make them in dumb sizes; surely someone of his stature rides at least 8.25 and over 32". there's only a small amount of other boards enjoi make that he could ride. guess they gotta make those smaller sizes for the kids.

8.4 x 33

Dan Lu seems like he's on the brink of turning pro. Is he the only am left on the program aside from that Jordan Taylor guy?

I feel like kevin terpening is kinda older and has been around for awhile. Wasn't he on alien flow for like 6 years or something before finally gettin bumped to am? At this point I think he deserves it, but just needs to keep puttin out footy. He's also perfect being from ohio with alien's roots there and whatnot.

adrian mallory is and shall always (unfortunately) remain my favorite am of all time
his perm-am status and loyalty for creature shows the dude only cares about shredding
others would've thrown the towel or vanished ages ago

Adrian Mallory - Creature Hesh Law (Part 9)

Hold up, hold the fuck up. Adrian Mallory is STILL Am? I thought he went pro ages ago after Pig got the ax? how in the fuck is still AM?

that proves enjoi make different boards for their pros because that exact board he's got is like an 8.1. unless they make them in two different sizes (weiger had a board, same graphic but two different sizes that i've seen for sale). jake johnson's debut board is 8.5x33.

with toy machine they had a bunch of those flow guys: Rob Straser, Alex Schmidt, Max Chilen (best name), the Frederickson brothers, Grant Hatfield and one other dude. they had those two bonus parts in suffer the joy. then Grant had his own part in the bonus of brainwash. weird to think none of them went am.

I thought it was fucking wrong that Real turned Ishod pro before him. Jake's been on forever and Ishod hardly did anything. Sure, he had that one video part and won maloof, but that's not a reason to turn him pro before jake

Nick merlino should for sure be pro, he killed it in that last foundation vid, had plenty of ads and tons of coverage, KOTR etc and skates better than some aging pros Smiley
but im still all up for aging pros, id still buy a james brockman board cos he s straight up gnar-boots.

other than that, dennis durrant also been mentioned, he should for sure be pro by now

ive seen 100's of these similar threads and its amazing how some people KEEP coming up in them and are not yet pro.
and ps, i LOVE dane burman's skating, but dont think he's put enough time in etc etc
