I miss the days when you never heard anything from pros and so you could hold on to your illusions about what they might be like in real life. Then the internet came along and exposed the full effects of the often necessary trade off between finishing high school and pursuing a career in skateboarding. Often with very disillusioning results.

Leo Romero needs to just shut the fuck up. He is an incredible skateboarder, but he is also an idiot and comes off as a douche bag in every interview I've ever seen or read.

When was that? The 80's? Before the internet there was almost as much access to pros shit talking each other and other companies and showing how stupid they were in magazines like big brother. The thing is, I'm guessing you didn't skate before then and are really just being nostalgic of an era when you didn't pay attention, not when shit talking in skateboarding didn't exist.
