Good interview. Sucks about his ankle and the footage we'll be missing out on, but he more than makes up for it in being an awesome human being.

I wouldn't hold out hope for ever again seeing footage from Tim, but his interviews are pretty consistently the most entertaining in the industry.

Give O'Connor the boot, he's washed up and milking it. Turn Suciu pro, he's killing it.

If he has some footy stacked from these years it certainly would make an enjoyable skate part.

Always liked his skating.
Hope he fully recovers, ankle injuries suck.

There's a difference between milking it and being injured.

I?ve yet to find a community more pseudo-nostalgic than skateboarding.

What the hell classifies as "milking it" anyways?  Because other than being on team rosters, I don't see anything that Tim does that constitutes as milking it.  Is Tim supposed volunteer himself to be kicked off his sponsors team list because he has an injury?

i don't know many other sports where professionals of that sport can remain employed for so long after being productive.  being chronically injured sucks, but there must be a point where you have to retire.  lots of older pros are still good skateboarders, but skateboarding is over-saturated and something has to give

at the end of the day skateboarding doesn't owe anybody anything; we owe skateboarding for all of the good times it has given us over the years.

(this coming from a longtime Tim O fan, from back in the EE3/Zoo/Think times)

Most pros' aren't actually employees of their sponsors, but independent contractors. Generally, they sign multi-year contracts with said sponsors. I would expect that these contracts contain clauses that prevent them from being terminated if the pro is unable to skateboard due to being injured while skateboarding. If Timmy's ankle shit the bed on his first Addidas trip, well too bad for Addidas' money and good for Timmy having a paycheck while he rehabs.

at least he's still got stand up to fall back on when he can't milk it anymore. hopefully his jokes will also sound funny to people who don't have his ball in their mouth.
